You know that there is another name for the city where I live now. It is called the culinary heaven in Indonesia, the reason is because of the diverse multi-ethnicities in this city. The combination of many multi-ethnicities makes this place have a variety of flavors in food. You can find types of food from Chinese, Taiwanese, Malay and even Asian food.
It's not difficult to find delicious food, you just need to search for something on the internet and trust the good reviews. It could be that the tongues of people who live in Medan are indeed at a high level. That's why if there is food that is not delicious, then very few will review it.
Including the restaurant I visited. The place is really interesting, even though it is very small when viewed from the outside. Like a house with a red light box that says 'Tapao Food.Co'.
Go in and see the vibes of the restaurant which is warm and cozy. Even though this is the time when people will enjoy a beautiful Saturday night, but, it seems that this restaurant is not too crowded. There are only a few people, including the people who work here.
On the table there was an interesting menu, I read it slowly and each menu had a clear picture, so we could guess what it tasted like. I chose 3 menus and 1 drink. Among them: chili pan mee, bun bo hue, chicken wonton soup and local soda water.
I have to review a little about the food I ordered. The first is chili pan mee. A type of noodle that can be eaten with soup or dry. They brought me two different bowls, separating the soup and also a bowl of chili pan mee with lots of fillings. There are half-boiled eggs, chicken and noodles in it. All can be stirred if you want a strong taste, but you can also add sauce to taste.
There is also bun bi bue, this is similar to Vietnamese pho. It is almost similar but slightly different because it adds spicy seasoning and replaces the pieces of meat with thick brisket. Fatty and spicier. I like the very light broth and it makes me feel warm.
Plus a bowl of super savory wonton chicken and a very strong garlic aroma. For some reason, out of all the wontons I've tried, this one was the softest and tastiest. I didn't add anything and just slurp it down.
A glass of local soda water that the taste like sarsaparilla. Do you know what it tastes like? Like reminding me about my chilhood. Seriously, this place makes me feel so comfortable.
