Hello, Foodies! ✨🍴

What makes a good steak? πŸ€”

Ha! Well, for me, I want a tender and juicy meat that melts in my mouth. πŸ˜‹

Last weekend we tried a different steak. This steak restaurant is new to me. I never tried a proper Japanese steak, well, I tried wagyu when I was in Japan, but I think this type of beef is on the leaner side, which is called β€œtop blade”. πŸ₯©

This is the menu in front of the restaurant. Different steak cuts, and yes, they have a chicken steak. πŸ‘

A staff greeted us and led us to the booth. The menu was simple, so easy to pick what to order, but I noticed one thing… they do not have any desserts. πŸ₯²

The staff were so nice to explain everything from the meat to the ingredients. As if I was having a full blown conversation with a friend, haha. πŸ˜›

But what amazed me was the lava stone grill from Mt. Fuji. Wahhh It boosted my hunger. 🀀🀀🀀

I ordered the 1-B Yappari Steak with soup and rice.

The soup and the sauces came out first. The egg soup has a beefy flavor, somewhat savory, and a bit peppery. The amount was just right while waiting for the main star.

The sauces were soy sauce, onion sauce, and garlic sauce, then a little squeeze of wasabi. In my opinion, it was bland, so perhaps I needed a dash of salt.

Additional sauces were available, like tomato ketchup, teriyaki sauce, tabasco, etc. Sauces were refillable and self-served. And the introvert in me was screaming in joy because I do not have to call the attention of the staff for additional sauce, ha! πŸ˜†

While enjoying my egg soup, I can hear a sizzling sound on my left side. Ahh~ the smell was filling the air. 😌

It came to the table like this. It was covered in a napkin secured on top by a toothpick fixed on the meat.

I let the sizzling tone down a bit before taking out the napkin. Those oily jumping out would be nasty! (I still have things to do after this)

Tadaa~ πŸ‘πŸ»

The aroma got stronger the moment I took the napkin off. I knew the lava stone was scalding hot because go the smoke coming out from it.

I cut the steak in between to reveal the red meat. At the moment, I was thinking of what temperature I should aim for. Hmm, medium and medium-well kinda temperature..

It was hard to control the heat, to be honest, with all the chit-chatting and taking photos, I was everywhere.

I tried to cook a steak at home before, but it was a hella disaster... I never did it again. πŸ₯²

But whatever the outcome, it was a tender and juicy steak cooked on a Mt. Fuji lava stone!

I took a small bite to try, and just a small amount of wasabi on top.

It was incredibly tender, juicy, and meaty umami-nessβ˜ΊοΈπŸ‘Œ. I tried eating it with the sauces, and it was even more delicious. Of course, as an Asian, I can’t forget the rice!

What a delight- well satisfying meal. πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ₯©

Even though I struggled with the cooking part, the meat and the experience were phenomenal. πŸ‘πŸ»

What I like about the restaurant was the great atmosphere, nice staff, and no BS menu. And hey, the lava stone came straight from Mt. Fuji! It was a cool experience.

Bonus part, I dropped a piece on the floor ughhh 😀
