Dinner Date
As my wife Tiffany and I continue to integrate plant based, vegetarian and vegan options into our diets the last few years simulataneously with our health and fitness journeys we always look forward to checking out places like the Winter Park Collective.
I've come a long way when it comes to being open to different cuisines much less healthier options, but when I decided to take better care of my body it only made sense that no only being active would help but what I put in my body is just as important.
I started my journey in my late fourties and I've been doing full body workouts for most of those years and as I get older I've begun to have a need for better options of beverages and food, because honestly dairy, red meat and other things just don't sit well for me anymore.
I'm Not Perfect
Don't get me wrong, I had a beef burger a few days ago and it was at home, the beef was lean but it was meat; so I have no intentions of giving up meat for good. I still eat plenty of chicken, but have increased my fish intake and have been very open to trying alternatives.
I drink Nut Milk predominantly for example and other changes I've made to my diet.
Winter Park Collective
A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I wanted to check out this place that Tiffa read about and told me about and I was like all in to go check it out and the opportunity came up to have a last minute dinner date.
The Winter Park Collective is basically a vegan collective of options under one roof in Winter Park, Florida.
The places are as follows:
Jacked Up Vegan and the photo I uploaded for the cover of this post was my wife Tiffany's meal. She had the Island Burger with Yuca Fries. She gave me a taste of both and WOW.
We started off with an appetizer from Jacked Up Vegan called The Truffalo Titan Bites and these were cauliflower dressed with a ton of flavorful yumminess.
I'm Latino, so I got a lot of latin notes to this app and my wife's entree.
For myself, I went with The Supernova Pie because I love pizza being that I was born and raised in New York and specifically Brooklyn where I lived most of my younger years. Lived in the Bronx, Queens and Yonkers, so yes I love pizza lol.
With that said, this was all plant based. Everything we ate and drank.
The pizza was from Pizza Nova.
Now the drinks, we went with the following:
Tiffany had the Pink Rosey Lemonade.
and I had the Blue Cloud Lemonade which actually looked purple lol.
Both drinks we delicious.
Then of course we had to have dessert where I believe the drinks were from or at least it was in the same section.
I had the Confetti Cake.
and Tiffany had the Chocolate Oreo Cake.
These were from A Harmless Bite Bakery
Finally, Tiffany and I like to try out different Kava places and wouldn't you know it, at the Winter Park Collective they had a Kava Bar called the Sudan Kava Bar.
I wasn't feeling great that weekend and decided to skip having a drink, butbut Tiffa did have some Kava tea and that was a nice way to end the night.
Conclusion
I would definitely go back and get what Tiffa got for an entree and of course end my night with some Kava.
It's an incredible way to enjoy these different options under one roof with a great ambiance and whether you go by yourself, with someone else, a group, etc. these type of places seem to be the future here in Central Florida.
Honestly, it has been a slow process because here is so tourist forward being that Disney is out here but it's nice to see that there is way more than Disney.
