This Tet Holiday, my friend from Ha Noi came to visit me in Da Nang. After a couple of days of eating mostly local food, we were both craving something different and went out for Western breakfast. I suggested that we could go to the grocery store and buy some things to make our own breakfast - pancakes, muffins, yogurt, fruit, etc but they don't really open during the first 2 days of Lunar New Year.
We soon realized that there are a few western restaurants nearby, and we really looking for somewhere cozy, and quiet too. After a few considerations, we decided to head to BreadnSalt Cafe. Locating in the An Thuong area in the city of Da Nang, BreadnSalt Cafe Da has a wide selection of Vietnamese and Western food and drinks, including vegetarian and vegan options. With the great food and drink as well as a quiet and cozy place for working online, this place is popular with ex-pats in the area.
The first thing I should say is we were extremely impressed with the modern, spacious space of the shop. Especially my friend, since he has lived in bustling Ha Noi for years, he has rarely seen an apartment this spacious. Lol
The second thing is we like that they have a variety of food and drink choices (including the local specialty dishes) and they are amazing. From detox drinks, tea to smoothies to coffee, they have it all! I was surprised that egg coffee was included, too. Best Breakfast in Da Nang!
I ordered a cup of egg coffee and my friend recommends Shakasuka, which may not sound like a great combination😁, but they pair beautifully. I have tried egg coffee in many different shops in town, but the creamy egg coffee here is amazing! Egg coffee has a rich flavor that I love and can't find anywhere else. It's delicious and worth trying if you haven't already! I was infatuated with the delicious taste of Shakasuka here. It was really good. If you're vegetarian, Shakasuka will satisfy your palate in every way. 🙂

Our main reason for coming here was Eggs Benedict, and along with coconut coffee, we did not leave disappointed. The presentation is also impressive; the dish looks like it takes some skill to make.

It's a cozy place with great vibes and strong wifi, so you could work or read there. There are also tables outside and a second floor. The service at this restaurant is always going to be amazing because the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the price is not outrageous. We were offered the traditional Vietnamese jam and were served free water at the table.
There are still plenty of things to try here, and I'd love to come back to try the American pancakes with bacon and eggs on top, as well as the smoothies next time.
