I’ve been so busy lately with real life stuff that my time to be here on Hive has been affected. I mean, I really want to be all over the place here. 😅 It’s not really required but I enjoy reading a lot and learn from the lives of the people all over the world.
So yeah, during my free time, I try my best to pop here and there.
Remember when I was so disappointed when I went to Ikebukuro and wasn’t able to dine in at Outback Restaurant? Well, we went there again and this time, we were earlier than last time so we got in!
I was really looking forward to bringing my partner to this place because we’re both foodies and this is going to be different from what we usually have.
Outback Steakhouse is an American chain of Australian-themed casual dining restaurants, serving American cuisine, based in Tampa, Florida.

In Japan, it’s not so common to see big servings but well, this isn’t a Japanese restaurant so hooray! Big servings it is!
We ordered a lot for the 2 of us that even the waiter attending our order warned us that the food they will be serving would be so big. We were both hungry and this would be our first meal of the day so we couldn’t care leas. We can take it out anyways if we wouldn’t be able to finish everything.
After ordering, my eyes roam around and noticed that there weren’t a lot of people that Saturday night. Maybe because this place was kinda hidden? Or maybe Japanese people just don’t find the good food they serve here? I am not really sure.
The first time I came here, one Saturday night a month ago, seats were almost empty too.
My thoughts came back to me when the food arrived!
We ordered the Fried Soft Shell Crab which arrived first. It was heaven! It’s not found in their regular menu so maybe this is one of the limited edition offers. It was expensive to get 1 but 1 wouldn’t even be enough for one person so we got 2 so we could split it evenly. In the end, my partner liked it so much that he took some of mine. 😅
Of course I came here for the Baby Back Ribs and it didn’t disappoint. It was massive so it’s perfect for sharing. It comes with coleslaw and french fries too! The barbecue ribs was so delicious that I ate a lot.
My partner’s favorite was the Grilled Salmon. It was the yummy portion and it was cooked perfectly! It comes with mashed potato but we didn’t care about it. My partner ordered their butter rice filled with good aroma that I thought it was garlic rice, and paired it with the salmon. He got 2 rice so imagine eating a lot.
Last dish was the Creamy Chicken Pasta. I wasn’t expecting the pasta to be flavorful so I was really surprised it tasted so good! The chicken was I think grilled and then cut into strips and the pasta sauce was so creamy. It was a nice combination.
For the drinks, they have a wide variety. I think people here come to drink while watching sports on their TV screens. My boyfriend ordered a glass of whisky and pink lemonade for me. Their softdrinks, including what I ordered is free for refill so I drank a lot of the lemonade. 😂 I gotta drink my money’s worth.
I completely forgot to mention that their bread is free of charge. I mean it’s included in the service charge and of course you can ask more if you want. I wanted another round of bread but it seems the waiter forgot I ordered so the bread never came. I kept telling my partner to ask the waiter about it but it didn’t happen. It’s fine, they’re going to be closed soon anyways.
We went home full! And well, we’re kinda proud we finished everything. It was a sumptuous meal and so different from our usual meals. My partner liked it there, that’s why I kept bugging him about going there because for sure he would like it. So glad he did.
The next morning, I went to see my friends because we would be going somewhere and guess where we would be eating lunch?
You guess it right! I’m back here after a night! 😂
There were 4 of us and 2 of my friends shared 1 barbecue ribs. Only that. My friend and I shared their Salmon Pasta and Kookaburra Wings. We ordered drinks of course. I got the Pomegranate Blueberry Iced Tea and it comes with a free refill of any softdrinks or coffee. I refilled mine with Pink Lemonade again. Just can’t get enough of this drink 😅
The Salmon Pasta was so creamy as usual and the salmon was grilled to perfection. Combine them and you’ll have a great meal. I like it because I hadn’t had salmon in a while (except for last night’s meal).
The Kookaburra Wings was crunchy! My friend tried to eat it with fork and knife but when I said the flavors reached the bones, he ditched the utensils. We ordered the mild flavor but it was still a bit spicy so maybe for Japanese people this would be really spicy. 😅 I trained a little on eating spicy food so I was fine but maybe when my partner eats this, he’ll not finish it and give everything to me. 😂
And because my bread refill didn’t arrived last night, I made sure to order another round this time. Glad my friends were also a fan of their honey bread so we had 3 rounds of it. 😅 If we wouldn’t leave I think we would have another.
Sunday lunch time in Outback is not so crowded too. Usually everywhere in Ikebukuro is full at this time but not in Outback. We were entertained right away and we didn’t have to wait that long for our orders.
So yes, my cravings have been satisfied. Coming to this place for 2 consecutive days was really foolish of me from other people’s view and yeah, it’s not that cheap but hey, I don’t mind. I would always leave with a full stomach and a happy heart whenever I eat there.
Thanks for reading! See you around! じゃあ、またね!
