The Hirshorn Museum is a modern art museum on the national Mall. It has a wonderful sculpture garden that I wander through just about every time I am in the city.

A wonderful thing about the museums and gardens on the National Mall is that they are all free!

Street level

On the street level there is some great art by Mark di Suvero, Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.

The most prominent piece is by Mark di Suvero. It is made out of steel, paint, and wire and is 480 × 480 × 360 in. (1219.2 × 1219.2 × 914.4 cm) and weighs a staggering 18725 lb. (8493.6 kg)

There are two Henry Moore sculptures on the street level. Henry Moore is one of my favorite artists and this garden has a lot of Moore. That is probably why I go so often!

Figure for Landscape The great thing about this sculptures is that you can see them from the road.

Draw the Curtain

From the street level and from all over the mall you can see the piece that is draped over the Hirshhorn itself.

One of my favorite things about Henry Moore is that his pieces change so much depending on were you are standing to look at it.

Close to the Wishing Tree are a some Rodin's. I really like Rodin's emotion in bronze.

There are so many beautiful sculptures that you could spend hours in this garden. I have and I return again and again.

Here is my post of the Hirshhorn Museum from the same trip.
