Hello Hive

Happy new month Family. It is a good vibes that this new month is starting on a Monday. Starting with positive vibes and all the energy and motivation that will be flowing from the community. It is important to start any new day well and most importantly to start a new month well.
I made a very simple project today. It is one I have long waited for just because this sort of fabrics is scarce here. Sometimes fabrics are the reasons behind our inspiration
Sometimes I really don't get motivation to sew buy the moment I sight certain fabrics I begin to imagine what I will make of this. This is a very simple fabrics here but it is never common. I have desired and wished to own an outfit with a Scottish materials print like this one for a very long time now.
The moment I sighted this one in a store at the neighborhood I decided to purchase it. If I don't get it right away I won't have contact with it and may never find anything similar anytime soon. A meter of it cost me $2.
I want to sew a dress for this but different ideas where coming which I wasn't sure that it will fit the fabric type I decided to sew my long desired skirt from the fabric.
Making this is the fastest simplest task ever.
I measured out my waist, hip and full length that I wanted of the skirt
Cut out the front block here without a dart allowance.
Once secret with sewing a stretchy Hy fabric is that you don't need to add any allowance to your outfit while cutting it.
Next I used the front fo cut the back and it was time for sewing.
Having joined the both sides I got an elastic band and added it to the waist line. Both skirt and band are stretchy hence no need for zipper allowance too.
This is one of the easiest way you can cut and sew a fitted and lovely scottish skirt. To get the perfect fit for a stretchy fabric ensure that you use your exact measurements. Ensure to notch the hip and waist line so that they can you can join them and those areas will align properly. That way you can have a perfect fit like mine
