Una de mis películas preferidas en Halloween es sin duda "El Cadáver de la Novia", es una historia de amor contada dentro de una historia de terror, Víctor el protagonista se debía casar con una chica que no conocía, y entre los nervios llega al bosque y comienza a practicar sus votos, colocando el anillo en una rama, que resultó ser la mano de Emily, una hermosa chica que estaba muerta, con una dolorosa historia de amor, y de repente en medio de esa confusión "acepta" la petición de matrimonio de Víctor pensando que es para ella y exigiendo sus derechos como prometida de él. Esta historia tiene un importante mensaje y es ideal para verla en familia y conversar sobre el apego, el duelo y la búsqueda de identidad. Esta película ha envejecido muy bien, así que es la amé cuando la vi, y cada vez que la vuelvo a ver me gusta un poquito más. Hoy les traigo una manualidad homenaje a esta película... Bienvenidos.

One of my favorite Halloween movies is definitely “Corpse Bride.” It's a love story told within a horror story. Victor, the main character, was supposed to marry a girl he didn't know, and, feeling nervous, he arrives at the forest and begins to practice his vows, placing the ring on a branch, which turns out to be the hand of Emily, a beautiful girl who is dead, with a painful love story. Suddenly, in the midst of this confusion, she “accepts” Victor's marriage proposal, thinking it is for her, and demanding her rights as his fiancée. This story has an important message and is ideal for watching with the family and talking about attachment, grief, and the search for identity. Este post lo voy a hacer muy rápido, lo más importante es el boceto que hice en una hoja reciclad, es la imagen de Víctor y Emily, pensé en hacerlos estilo Chibi, pero luego pensé en hacerlo mejor como estilo Funko, ya que tienen la cabeza cuadrada y el cuerpo pequeño como esas figuras o personajes. Los bocetos los recorto y luego separo en las piezas que evalúo pueden quedar para cortar cada pieza en el foami del color correspondiente que tiene cada personajes.

I'm going to write this post very quickly. The most important thing is the sketch I made on a recycled sheet of paper. It's a picture of Victor and Emily. I thought about doing them in Chibi style, but then I decided it would be better to do them in Funko style, since they have square heads and small bodies like those figures or characters. El vestido de novia de Emily lo hice con foami blanco para la parte del busto, pero para formar la falda grande y con más estructura, me decidí hacerlo con papel crepé de color blanco, simplemente corté un rectángulo y luego abrí un poco para formar esa falda del vestido. A los detalles de cada figura como manos, brazos, etc. lo fue cortando en foami y luego pegando con mucho cuidado.

I made Emily's wedding dress with white foam for the bust, but to make the large, more structured skirt, I decided to use white crepe paper. I simply cut a rectangle and then opened it up a little to form the skirt of the dress. I cut out the details of each figure, such as hands, arms, etc., from foam and then glued them on very carefully.

En la cara realicé unas sombras en los ojos, y luego pegué los círculos blanco. Con marcadores fui marcando algunos elementos como los ojos, pestañas, cejas, etc. Para terminar, le coloqué a Emily un ramo de flores, que hice solo cortando una flor de un arreglo y se lo pegué con silicón caliente, en uno de los brazos de ella.

I added some shadows to the eyes on the face, and then glued on the white circles. I used markers to draw on some features such as the eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, etc. To finish, I gave Emily a bouquet of flowers, which I made by cutting a flower from an arrangement and gluing it to one of her arms with hot glue.

Para decorar el set de fotografía de estos personajes, utilicé una base que tenía lista para personajes de Splinterlands, que tiene un alambre en el centro, muy oportuno para colocarle un corazón y que éste sea elemento que los conecta y los deja bien parados.

Imposible no amar esta historia o película, estos personajes y su gran mensaje. Les confieso que se ve más bello en persona, no logré buenos ángulo para los muñecos terminados, pero ciertamente debo seguir trabajando en foami para adquirir más experiencia y dominio. It's impossible not to love this story or movie, these characters, and their powerful message. I confess that it looks more beautiful in person. I couldn't get a good angle for the finished dolls, but I certainly need to keep working with foam to gain more experience and mastery.
