Earlier this week, my father and I went grocery shopping for our small store, as well as for our family's consumption. I decided to take a day off that day. Well, not totally since I taught one student for an hour in the morning before we headed out.
Recently, my parents have been drinking more coffee than they used to. I guess I influenced them somehow. hahah They also drink black coffee now without any sugar... although sometimes, we add some soymilk.
I mostly get dark roast coffee, as I prefer it that way. However, since my parents have started getting into coffee, I decided to buy a different variety.
I had a choice of different coffee brands. There was one that I was interested in getting. It's from Bo's Coffee, one of my favorite coffee shops. However, it's also dark roast, and I still have some dark roasted coffee beans left at home from the local brand I shared in the past. So I chose this one instead.
I like its name, though. Deja Brew sounds cool. There were various types, but I got Caramel Nut. It's a medium to dark roast, and it has a slightly sweet aroma.
Here's what it looks like. :)
Since I also bought some soy milk, I decided to make iced coffee with it! I asked my parents whether they wanted some iced coffee as well, and they immediately said yes. hahah
I added some soy milk into our glasses first and used the French Press to brew the coffee.
I placed some ice cubes into the glasses when the coffee was ready to be poured in. I usually add condensed milk when I make iced coffee at home, but we didn't have any condensed milk available, so I opted for brown sugar instead.
I then poured the coffee into our glasses. It was good, but I guess I placed too many ice cubes. Well, it's ok for me, but my father and his sweet tooth thought otherwise. hahaha
Next time, I'll prepare either condensed milk or honey. I saw some syrup for sale in the coffee shop, which also sells coffee beans, but I'm not sure whether to buy it or not. I'm not a fan of sweet drinks, but I want to try making coffee with milk and honey someday. :)
We paired this with some ube hopia, which were leftover from breakfast. I'm excited to create more fun drinks using coffee in the coming days, and when I do, I'll make sure to share them here as well.
I love coffee, but getting it from the coffee shop or cafe is costly, so it's better just to make it at home.
And ohh! The other day, I added a pack of cocoa to the coffee I prepared using the French Press, and it was so delicious. My parents enjoyed it, too. I'll make it again tomorrow. I only had instant coffee today since I had an early morning class. XD
Anyway, I've been talking a lot, so I'll end this here. Thanks for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/
