Finally the time has come to see the results of last two month's hard work.

Every gardener waits for this time of glory, when the plants give back the result of our effort and this year, I can say, the plants say it all. A lot of consistent effort has been put behind these plants, nurturing them like a child for last two months. It's like growing a kid, you have to water them every day, check their health consistently, feed them the right food at right interval. When I go to my native, the job is delegated to the kid, an alarm is set so that he does not forget to water them at a fixed time. That way, he also learns and grows interest. And now when it starts flowering, it catches attention of every one. People go and stand there for some time enjoying the beauty of these nature's gift and appreciate my work. That justifies all the work done. This year the society has not given any interest, and I took it all myself. Thankfully people have shown mercy so far by not plucking them.

Two weeks back, I spent the entire week end (two full day), reworking on all plants, giving all organic stuff, and clearing extra roots. The winter started well, and that resulted these flowers come early this year. Unfortunately, the climate is not consistent, so we have to still water them every day. The temperature should have been bellow 20 degree by this time, but some low pressure situation has changed the climate, taking temperature to the 25-30 degree range. We will see how it goes in next couple of months. Ideally, winter should stay till late February, but you can never predict.

The view of the entire area, when all the plants flower in that circular patch, it will be a photographic hub and a selfie spot of the society.

Unfortunately insects are killing some of these plants, I tried to consult the experts and spray some medicines, but seems they won't survive long.

You can see some small holes that tells that these plants are attacked by insects. I am planning to bring some fresh saplings next week and do a last round of plantation for this season, covering the empty spaces.

Buds have started coming in these Chrysanthemum plants, hopefully they should flower in a week or so. I am waiting to see all of them with different colors, adding to the beauty.

And insects do not leave them as well, you can notice only if you watch closely. A spray is needed to tackle these insects which I planned in this weekend, but we have a PG meet tomorrow. So a lot of work in progress, but finally, the outcome of doing all the work keeps inspiring me to do more.

And this month, we have the special Thursdays, known as Manabasa Gurubara, a festival to please Goddess Lakshmi for health, wealth, happiness, and prosperity. It feels nice to offer some fresh flowers along with traditional Odia white art known as Jhoti, made by her.

Hopefully, you will see some more beautiful views this year.
