The butterfly garden is so pretty with all the Foxglove and Dianthus blooming. I took this right at dusk when the solar lights came on.
This week the last of the Peony flowers dropped and I trimmed off all the spent branches. They all put on a lovely display this year blooming in between the heavy rainfall.
Some of the Seashell Cosmos started blooming but they are hard to see in the middle of the garden. I should have planted them closer to the front behind the Dianthus. Next year I will know that they don't get very tall.
In another garden that is quite shady, the apricot Snapdragons came back from last year.
They look so pretty nestled among the Southern Charm Verbascum that are still blooming.
They are almost done flowering and most of them have fallen over and going to seed. They were a sweet addition to this garden.
I had two white Foxglove in this garden; it is the first time I've had white ones. Usually, they are all a pink or apricot color.
On the south side of the vegetable garden the Wisteria is in full bloom.
It used to cover the entire trellis, but I've trimmed it back hard to keep it under control.
I wish you could smell the sweet fragrance. I should try and make a hydrosol to see if I could capture it for a room spray. Hmmm?
The Fushia that I saved from last year and kept it over the winter has started budding and blooming. I love the little ballerina-like flowers. Hopefully, the hummingbirds will find it to enjoy.
All the white Gladiola are getting tall and starting to fall over. I may have to stake them before the flower, or they will surely fall completely over with the weight.
The Nasturtiums are nice and full in the hanging baskets, but the ones in the gardens have not started flowering yet.
I'm starting to see black and yellow Swallowtails flitting here and there. This one landed on the Hemlock at the pond and basked in the sun for a while.
So far, I have not seen any Monarchs, but they should be arriving this month. That's a wrap up for this week's update on what is blooming at the moment. Have a wonderful week everyone.
