Hello there, black-and-white photography lovers!
Two weeks ago, I had the chance to attend a masterclass on Cinematography at the usual house, Ramos Sucre's house. It was the preamble of the idea of creating a course to help people who are interested in that field of art.
Dictated by Jose Gregorio Vasquez, the class went over the most basic of aspects on the whole job to the more specific details oriented to lighting, equipment and else.
We also learned a lot about how projects strat. What makes them keep going. What stops them. And how do thing like electricity and water are used during the filming stages.
There were also some amazing examples on Cinematography taken from Jose Gregorio's personal repertoire. During these takes, we saw how light and color set the mood of a particular scene. We also learned about the secrets of lighting. Everything we see on the screen has been designed to serve a purpose.
We also got some funny stories about weird thing people holding the cameras have to do to get the shots right.
Towards the end of the class, he took some volunteer to show how light works and how to make it work as intended. That was one of the best parts of the whole deal. There are techniques and gadgets used to alter the intensify and color of light. To make it bounce off objects in a certain way.
It was a truly interesting thing.
