Urban Panning Shots on Two Wheels

Hello to the black and white community! Today, I'm really excited to share with you a series of five photos I took while practicing the panning technique. I shot them on the streets of my district, La Molina, here in Lima, and all of them feature motorcyclists in their daily lives, captured in pure motion. I've recently started learning this technique, and I like it a lot! It's true it demands patience and a steady hand; the idea is to follow the subject with the camera so they come out super sharp, while the background blurs and streaks, creating that incredible feeling of speed and action. What interested me most was capturing that unique urban rhythm of our city, all those people moving quickly. I wanted to freeze the motorcyclist for an instant, making them the absolute center of attention. Every photo I took helped me a lot to improve my technique and better understand how to tell stories using movement. I hope you like them!

¡Hola a la comunidad del blanco y negro! Hoy estoy muy contento de compartir con ustedes una serie de cinco fotos que tomé practicando la técnica de barrido. Las hice en las calles de mi distrito, La Molina, aquí en Lima, y todas muestran a motociclistas en su día a día, en puro movimiento. He estado aprendiendo esta técnica hace poco y me gusta muchísimo. Es cierto que te exige paciencia y buen pulso; la idea es seguir al sujeto con la cámara para que salga súper nítido, mientras el fondo se mueve y se desdibuja, creando esa sensación increíble de velocidad y acción. Lo que más me interesaba era capturar ese ritmo urbano tan propio de nuestra ciudad, esa gente que va y viene rápido. Quería congelar al motociclista por un instante, que él fuera el foco absoluto de atención. Cada foto que hice me ayudó un montón a mejorar mi técnica y a entender mejor cómo contar historias usando el movimiento. ¡Espero que les gusten!
