I was surprised by these huge pulleys and mechanisms made of iron and wood that belonged to the pharmaceutical industry of the colonial era. The details of the ferrous pieces captivate me greatly. The skinned rusty surfaces and the huge nails or rivets used to join pieces together are a visual treat, besides the history they tell, of course. Also, some of the railings used on the properties are truly priceless works of art. How much effort and talent went into beautifying and protecting properties? Most of these beautiful railings are from long ago. Nowadays the good taste for the art of grating has been lost, and well for some many other things as well. Hola apasionados del blanco y negro y del metal, el hierro. En esta ocasión quiero compartir acá una serie aleatoria de imágenes, fundamentalmente detalles, relacionadas o enfocadas en elementos de metal, principalmente hierro. Algunas son piezas antiguas de industrias de antaño de la ciudad, otras ornamentos en fachadas y obras de arte. Con estas tomas quiero hacer entrada al reto diario #monomad. Me sorprendió estás enormes poleas y mecanismos fabricados en hierro y madera que pertenecieron a la industria farmacéutica de la época colonial. Ahora son elementos decorativos e historia tangible en uno de los centros de actividades recreativas, educativas y culturales para jóvenes y adolescentes en La Habana. ¡Historia haciendo futuro! Los detalles de piezas ferrosas me cautivan sobremanera. Las despellejadas superficies oxidadas junto a los enormes clavos o remaches que se usaban para unir piezas son un regalo visual, ademas de la historia que cuentan claro. También algunas de las rejas usadas en los inmuebles son verdaderas e invaluables obras de arte. ¿Cuánto esfuerzo y talento empleado en embellecer y proteger propiedades? La mayoría de estas hermosas rejas son de tiempos atrás. Hoy día se ha perdido bastante el buen gusto por el arte de enrejar, y bueno por algunas muchas otras cosas también.
