Being more direct when photographing dance doesn't make it clearer; in fact, I think it produces the opposite effect. In my opinion, dance is an art best understood through the possibility of embodying the sensations that arise within the dancers.

This was part of the final showcase at Piso Rojo, which is where I practice contemporary dance. I couldn't perform in it due to some personal matters, but I would have loved to. Even so, doing the photographic record was something I enjoyed immensely, as I hadn't done it in a while.

The location for this presentation was in some hallways of the Central University, which allowed me to move around the scene without problems or limitations, and resulted in these photos.

I really love this way of doing photographic records that isn't in a theater; it allows me to explore the image in a way that I enjoy much more, and I feel it's more genuine. These are the photos that best evoke the sensation of dancing for me.
