Summer Vacation | Monomad

Thanks to the uninterrupted 30-day summer vacation. While my colleagues are busy posting travel photos on social media, both locally and internationally, I’ve been keeping my days productive by spending time with my kids and using my camera in my startup home photo studio. In this journal, I’d also like to share that I’ve been spending time helping out as a salesman at my father-in-law’s sari-sari store—a small community version of a convenience store where you can buy basic necessities and household items.  I live in a small roadside community where everyone is busy hustling for their day-to-day survival. I’ve already had my travel era during my younger years. These days, I’m a family man working hard to provide for all my family’s needs—of course, that’s my priority now.   Today, I’d like to share these photographs as a glimpse into the daily life of people in our community. Living a minimalist and simple life is truly satisfying. I’ve always believed in the quote, “less is more.” I spend some of my free time reading content here on Hive, checking out photos that focus on positivity and appreciating life—rather than spending time on mainstream social media, where toxicity and negativity are often monetized.   Even though I rarely post here, I’m always active—mostly reading valuable content that sometimes helps relieve my boredom while my kids are asleep. I often share this platform with my friends and try to get them onboard, but most of them are too busy making reels and TikToks, chasing trends and, again, getting caught up in the toxicity that’s so common on social media these days.
