I LOOK AT THIS TOWN - MONOMAD - PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES || ENG-ESP || (10 pics)

I look at this town and I understand... I understand the extremes, the differences and the equidistances. I understand the angers, sadnesses and joys happening like an endless parade since I was a child, until today I am getting older and older. And maybe because of that particular mania of "reflecting while watching" I ended up taking photos in this handful of streets sometimes simple and sometimes complex at the same time...

Yo miro este pueblo y lo entiendo... Entiendo sus extremos, sus diferencias y sus equidistancias. Entiendo sus enfados, tristezas y alegrías sucediéndose como un desfile de interminable desde que yo era un niño, hasta hoy que me estoy volviendo cada vez más viejo. Y quizás por esa manía mía de "reflexionar mientras observo" terminé haciendo fotos en este puñado de calles algunas veces simples y otras veces complejas al mismo tiempo...

There is a strange pleasure in taking photographs in the place where one has always lived. Sometimes the images surprise and seem taken out of the typical randomness of street spaces. But at other times I can almost guarantee that I have the ability to predict some photo, as if something in my head said: "There you will see this or that". For example, in photo 02 of this post I was looking at that corner with a lighted wall and a sign with a list of some things to eat that are sold there. Then, while I was also noticing the silhouettes of people half a block away (right in the background), I had the feeling that someone would pass by walking in front of the wall illuminated by sunlight. And that's exactly how it happened that moment when I took this photo... This happens to me from time to time and it's a lovely thing for me!.

Existe un placer extraño en hacer fotografías en el lugar en donde se ha vivido siempre. Algunas veces las imágenes sorprenden y parecen sacadas del azar típico de los espacios callejeros. Pero en otras ocasiones casi puedo asegurar que tengo la habilidad de predecir alguna foto, como si algo en mi cabeza dijese: "allí verás esto o aquello". Por ejemplo, en la foto 02 de esta publicación me encontraba observando esa esquina con una pared iluminada y un letrero con una lista de algunas cosas de comer que se venden allí. Entonces, mientras me percataba también de las siluetas de personas a media cuadra (derecha al fondo), tuve la sensación de que alguien pasaría caminando enfrente de la pared iluminada por la luz solar. Y así precisamente sucedió ese momento en el cual hice esta foto... ¡Así me sucede de vez en cuando y es algo encantador para mi!.

Turning this type of photographs to black and white format is obviously something that dramatically increases that "observation message" implicit in street photos. It is logical that, with the flight of color, the presence of the elements and subjects captured in each photo, gains strength and transmits that ever-present connection between the scene, the camera and the photographer's thought.

Virar este tipo de fotografías al formato blanco y negro, es evidentemente, algo que incrementa de manera dramática ese "mensaje de observación" implícito en las fotos callejeras. Es lógico qué, ante la huida del color, la presencia de los elementos y sujetos capturados en cada foto, cobre fuerza y transmita esa siempre presente conexión entre la escena, la cámara y el pensamiento del fotógrafo.

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
