I know this town very well. I have lived here all my life and it is enough to know that after several months of rains the weather sometimes becomes unbearable. The humidity and heat are very high and make the air difficult to breathe. In addition, this town is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains where the wind blows very little, and this makes that feeling of "stagnation" even more noticeable. To all this can be added the appearance of the streets, already battered by the deficiencies of various kinds, now with that type of signs that persistent humidity creates on the facades, the pavement and everything that is exposed to the elements... In the midst of all this, I continue to go out on the streets to take photographs...
Conozco muy bien este pueblo. He vivido aquí toda mi vida y es es suficiente para saber que después de varios meses de lluvias el clima se hace a veces insoportable. La humedad y el calor son muy altos y hacen el aire difícil de respirar. Además, este pueblo está enclavado en un valle rodeado de montañas en donde el viento sopla muy poco, y esto hace que esa sensación de "estancamiento" sea aún más perceptible. A todo esto se le puede sumar el aspecto de las calles, ya maltratadas por las carencias de diversa índole, ahora con ese tipo de signos que la humedad persistente crea en las fachadas, el pavimento y en todo aquello que esté expuesto a la intemperie... En medio de todo esto, continúo yo saliendo a las calles para hacer fotografías...

I may seem exaggerated, but I know how it is here when the heat and humidity add to the broken dreams of a population mired in deprivation. Then even many of the people I see on the street lose their usual joy and become sullen and a little moody. So on days like these it's better for me to limit myself to taking street photos of a different nature. Maybe more cryptic things and avoid interacting with people who are not strictly my friends or acquaintances. Fortunately, I always have my beloved stray dogs and cats, who, apparently, are immune to the avatars caused by the economic, social situation or the unbearable climate... Every now and then it's good, it seems to me to "be a little like a cat" and practice a little of that "majestic equanimity" that those animals have, which in my opinion makes them seem "wise"... 🙂😺🐶
Puedo parecer exagerado, pero sé como es esto aquí cuando el calor y la humedad se suman a los sueños rotos de una población sumida en carencias. Entonces incluso muchas de las personas que veo en la calle pierden su habitual alegría y se tornan hurañas y un poco malhumoradas. Así que en días como estos es mejor para mi limitarme a hacer fotos callejeras de otra naturaleza. Quizás cosas más cripticas y evitar interactuar con las personas que no sean estrictamente mis amigos o conocidos. Afortunadamente siempre tengo a mis amados perros y gatos callejeros, quienes al parecer, son inmunes a los avatares causados por la situación económica, social o el clima insoportable... De vez en cuando es bueno, me parece "ser un poco como un gato" y practicar un poco de esa "ecuanimidad majestuosa" que tienen esos animales, la cual a mi juicio les hace parecer "sabios"... 🙂😺🐶

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
