I don't think it's a good idea to use animals for any purpose, but if it's at least educational, I suppose it can be tolerated.

I had the opportunity to document an activity carried out by an institution that aims to educate high school students about different species.

On this occasion, they were talking about a beautiful python.

They discussed its origin, diet, hunting methods, habitat, and the various myths surrounding snakes.

A young man asked, "Is it venomous?" to which the veterinarian replied, "No."

"It's a common question," she added.

Thanks to this, I realized that ignoring basic aspects of a species is harmful both to our safety and to the animal's, as it can lead to mistakes, such as killing it for no reason.

I then thought that this is the purpose of such talks, and I felt satisfied to have participated in documenting it, because photography, in this specific case, serves as a tool to remind us of what we sometimes need: to know that change, no matter how difficult it may seem, requires actions that at first glance may appear insignificant.

No me parece una buena idea utilizar a los animales para cualquier fin, pero, si al menos es educativo, supongo que puede ser tolerado.

Tuve la oportunidad de registrar una actividad realizada por una institución, que consiste en educar a estudiantes de bachillerato acerca de diferentes especies.

En esta ocasión, estaban hablando de una hermosa pitón.

Hablaban acerca de su origen, alimentación, cómo caza, dónde habita y los diferentes mitos que se tienen sobre las serpientes.

Un joven preguntó: “¿Es venenosa?”, a lo que la veterinaria respondió que no.

“Es una pregunta recurrente”, añadió.

Gracias a eso, me di cuenta de que al ignorar aspectos elementales de una especie, es perjudicial tanto para nuestra seguridad como para la del animal, porque se presta a cometer algún error, como el de matarlo sin razón alguna.

Luego pensé que para eso son este tipo de charlas, y me sentí a gusto por haber participado registrándolo, porque la fotografía en este caso específico sirve como herramienta para recordar lo que a veces necesitamos: saber que el cambio, por muy difícil que parezca, necesita de acciones que a simple vista parecen insignificantes.
