Hey, friends! A few days ago, I had to run a quick errand in downtown Vigo, and while I was at the bus stop waiting for mine, I started looking at Monte Do Castro, which was right in front of me. Since I had plenty of time, I decided to treat myself to a moment of calm, and without thinking too much about it, I set off and climbed the stairs that led me to the mountain. It wasn't a planned excursion or a long visit, just a brief stop, almost a break from routine, short but necessary to recharge my soul.
The good thing about Castro is that it always surprises you, even on short visits. Although I have climbed it several times, this place never disappoints me; it always gives me a new perspective on the city. I climbed without haste, enjoying the fresh morning air and the quiet movement that usually occurs during the week. Although it was quite sunny, the cool breeze made the walk more pleasant.
Que tal amigos! Hace unos días tuve que realizar una diligencia rápida en el centro de Vigo, y mientras estaba en la parada de buses esperando el mío, me puse a contemplar el Monte Do Castro que me quedaba justo al frente, como tenía bastante tiempo decidí regalarme un instante de calma y sin pensarlo demasiado me puse en marcha y subí las escaleras que me llevaban a la montaña. No era una excursión planeada ni una visita larga, simplemente una parada breve, casi un paréntesis en la rutina, corto pero necesario para recargar el alma.
Lo bueno del Castro es que siempre sorprende, incluso en visitas cortas. Aunque ya lo he subido varias veces este lugar nunca me decepciona, siempre me regala una nueva perspectiva de la ciudad. Subí sin prisa, disfrutando del aire fresco de la mañana y del movimiento tranquilo que suele haber entre semana, aunque hacía bastante sol, la brisa fresca hacía la caminata más agradable.
From the viewpoints, the panorama is simply spectacular. No matter how many times I've seen it, it always leaves me speechless. That mix of city and sea, that intense blue sky, is what makes Vigo such a privileged city. From Castro, you can see the boats coming and going, the town hall building rising like a watchtower, and the Cíes Islands silhouetted on the horizon, but the most spectacular thing is the estuary with its unique glow that changes depending on the time of day and the sunlight.
I stayed for a long time contemplating the landscape, listening to the birds, and of course taking lots of photos. It was a very relaxing moment. Being in contact with the green of nature has a magical effect on my temperament, lifting my spirits and relaxing me completely.
On my way back to the bus stop, I felt lighter, almost renewed, and with a different outlook on the day. It was a short walk, not very far, a moment stolen from my routine but turned into a necessary gift.
Desde los miradores, la panorámica es simplemente espectacular. No importa cuantas veces la haya visto, siempre me deja con la boca abierta. Esa mezcla de ciudad y mar, ese cielo azul intenso, es lo que hace a Vigo una ciudad privilegiada. Desde el Castro se ven los barcos entrando y saliendo, el edificio del ayuntamiento alzándosela como una torre de vigilancia y las islas Cíes recortadas en el horizonte, pero lo mas espectacular es la ría con ese brillo tan particular que cambia según la hora del día y la luz del sol.
Me quedé por un largo rato contemplando el paisaje, escuchando las aves y por supuesto tomando muchas fotos. Fue un momento muy relajante, el contacto con lo verde de la naturaleza tiene un efecto mágico en mi temperamento, logra elevarme y relajarme por completo.
Ya de regreso a mi parada de buses me sentí mas liviana, casi renovada y con otra visión del día. Fue un paseo corto, no muy lejos, un instante robado a la rutina pero convertido en un regalo necesario.
