After several days of rest, yesterday I went out again, although not so early because the sun was overwhelming. I waited for it to lose some of its intensity and then went out like crazy to take photos. Before that, I went through my coffee ritual; I've come to believe that a good cup of coffee expands my creativity. Crazy! My friends tell me. Since when does caffeine work miracles? I have fun with all that; the fact is, it works for me: I drink my cup of coffee and I'm ready to go.
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
I started my tour at the Malecón, obviously—where else? Something curious that I hadn't noticed before, and I'm an observant person, is that there are many more children fishing. I'd like to think it's for fun, but it made me wonder anyway.
I spent some time socializing, talking, and observing everything they did. I also asked them lots of questions: "Why do you fish? Do you enjoy it?" Very basic things. After a while, once I had gained their trust, they let me take some photos of them.
Then I kept walking, but the whole area was practically empty, with only fishermen, children, and the occasional street vendor. One thing that caught my attention was this sculpture. I always see it when I pass by, but I had never taken any photos of it before.
I changed the perspective a little to find a different angle. Oh, by the way, the work is called Equilibrio (Balance) and is by Cuban sculptor Osmany Betancourt and American David Griesmyer.
Then the light changed, everything became cloudy, it started to rain, and I realized it was over, so I gathered my things and went straight to my sister's house.

Hola, amigos de la comunidad #blackandwhite.
Después de varios días descansando, ayer volví a salir a la calle, aunque no tan temprano porque el sol era abrumador. Esperé a que bajara un poco su intensidad y salí como loco a hacer fotos. Antes pasé por el ritual del café; ya me he creado la idea de que una buena taza de café expande mi creatividad. ¡Loco! Me dicen mis amigos. ¿Desde cuándo la cafeína hace milagros? Yo me divierto con todo eso; el caso es que me funciona: tomo mi taza de café y ya estoy listo.
Comencé el recorrido por el Malecón, obviamente, ¿dónde si no? Algo curioso que no había notado, y soy observador, es que hay muchos más niños pescando. Me gustaría pensar que es por diversión, pero de todas formas eso me hizo pensar.
Estuve un rato socializando, hablando y observando todo lo que hacían. También les hice muchas preguntas: «¿Por qué pescan? ¿Les resulta divertido?». Cosas muy básicas. Al rato, después de ganar confianza, me dejaron hacerles algunas fotos.
Después seguí caminando, pero toda aquella zona estaba prácticamente vacía, solo había pescadores, niños y algún que otro vendedor ambulante. Una cosa que sí me llamó la atención fue esta escultura. Siempre que paso por allí la veo, pero nunca le había hecho fotos.
Cambié un poco la perspectiva para buscar un ángulo diferente. Ah, por cierto, la obra se llama Equilibrio y es del escultor cubano Osmany Betancourt y del estadounidense David Griesmyer.
Luego la luz cambió, se nubló todo, comenzó a llover y entendí que ya había terminado, así que recogí mis cosas y me fui directamente a casa de mi hermana.
