Mosques in Southeast Asia are not only places of worship; many mosques in this region are rooted in Southeast Asian cultural history. Over time, mosques have expanded their function, becoming places of learning for children and hosting numerous activities related to Islamic religious education.
Mosques themselves are places of worship for Muslims, who are currently the majority religion in Southeast Asia. I took some of these photos of a mosque at the very tip of Sumatra Island. The domes of this mosque are almost identical to those of other mosques.
