Hello Hivers. How are you?
Sometimes, when I photograph someone lost in thought, I can’t help but wonder what’s going through their mind at that moment. Maybe they’re asking for a break from their problems, or perhaps they’re feeling thankful for something. Or maybe their mind is completely blank, just enjoying the landscape.
I often find myself in that same state. Someone close to me will ask, “What are you thinking about?” And—oh surprise—nothing, absolutely nothing. Because sometimes you just need to turn off your brain for a while, take a short break from your thoughts, pause life for a few seconds, and then start again with renewed strength.
Some people don’t understand how restorative that can be, and they insist, “You must be thinking about something.” But the truth is, no, I’m not. Nothing at all.
I’m sure that many of my street models also find themselves in those pauses of thought, moments where their purest, most authentic essence comes through.

En ocasiones, cuando fotografío a alguien en actitud reflexiva, no puedo evitar preguntarme qué estará pasando por su cabeza en ese momento. Tal vez está pidiendo una pausa de sus problemas o agradeciendo algo. O quizás simplemente tiene la mente en blanco y disfruta del paisaje.
Yo mismo, a veces, me encuentro en esa misma situación. Con frecuencia alguien cercano me pregunta: “¿En qué piensas?”. Y oh, sorpresa… en nada, absolutamente nada. Porque a veces hay que desconectar el cerebro un rato y tomar un descanso de los pensamientos; poner la vida en pausa por unos segundos para luego arrancar con más fuerzas.
Algunas personas no comprenden lo reparador que puede ser eso, y muchas veces insisten: “Algo estás pensando”. Pero la verdad es que no, en nada.
Estoy seguro de que algunos de mis modelos callejeros también se encuentran en esas pausas mentales, momentos donde literalmente se deja ver su esencia más pura, más auténtica.
