As i continue to recover from my appendix surgery , i need to post things from the archive since i'm not stable enough to go out with te camera and do photowalks at the moment that might still take another week or so .
Today i post about hot air balloons that flew over our house a couple of weeks back.
And i know there will also be a hot air balloon festival nearby soon that i hope to be able to register with the camera from my balcony ,
more info about that festival for other photographers in Holland .

Equipment used :
Camera: Sony A7IV
lenses :
Laowa 15mm F 4.5
Sigma 150-500mm F5.6
Sony 24-105 G OSS F4
and Benro tripod for the 500mm shots .
1 ) So i was sitting on the balcony going through all the new options in the camera menu when i spotted these two hot air balloons . the image is taken at 105mm , not enough to get some details so i rushed inside and grabbed my tripod + 150-500mm lens.
2 ) after setting up the tripod and the 500mm lens and remote trigger
3 ) and a little bit of cropping , a good lens does make the difference.
4 ) same for the other balloon
5 )and a bit more cropping .
6 ) two days later this one came flying over
7 ) together with this one
8 ) a little odd shaped balloon
9 ) and another day later while i was testing something for timelapse i had 5 balloons in one picture , hot air balloon season had started for sure
10 ) since the wind was going fast i switched quickly back to the sony 24-105mm lens and took some shots before they were out of sight completly.
11 )
12 )
13 )
14 ) it always has something magical to see those balloons , until things go wrong , this week there has been a hot balloon accident costing a persons live and leaving 5 seriously injured just because of a surprise wind during the landing .
The balloons are a joy to see but not risk free .
That is all for today , hope you liked the balloons . enjoy your weekend
For those that are waiting to start the new photo essay contest , i will wait with that untill i'm fully recoverd.
