As I was walking with the doggo just outside I saw a stranger passing in the distance also walking his doggo. Hoodie on, also not really fanatically walking, just looking towards what the surroundings were bringing and minding his own business while the animals were scavenging for a female scent or something to chew on from the floor.
We walked closer by both with our heads in our own thoughts and as we encountered each other more and more, our head both went up.
A brief smile, a small look in the eye for some contact. 'Hey' I said while giving a small head nod, as the stranger answered with 'hello' and a head nod back.
The typical encounter here in the south I would say. What I often hear from city people is that people don't greet each other anymore and that everyone is a total stranger.
I don't know and it could be me, but here in the South that feels totally different. It could also be the country side situation. It might be a bit short sighted to say, but in general people are really chill and more community minded.
More and more and more
I had taken the drone for a spin recently as well just to see how the skills still were doing. That feels a bit weird doing that in a region which feels so 'normal' and with not much to see, but as autumn is starting to kick in...it might even be more of thing of paying attention to the details and not paying attention to the big over view.
Pine needles everywhere all of a sudden as I was walking with the drone in my hand. I could imagine what the stranger would think who I had passed by. Droning and trees are in general not the best combination and it would be a better idea to walk out of the woods first.
Also with every small wind blowing something was falling out of the sky again coming from the trees. Whether it is needles or leaves or ahorns falling, your intuition makes you want to look up to see what will be falling.
But the reality is that stuff is falling and you don't want to be looking up.
Outside
It feels like I want to grasp these last sunny days where there is so much contrast to see in colors when you are just doing something random.
Whether if it is the leaves that a turning in color, or that the water of the creek that is still blue and doggo still wants to run in, or that the reflection of the sun makes the patterns on the tree bark light up, or that the sun makes the spiderwebs notabel while normally you wouldn't even see them....
Nature is awesome and I feel like I want to spend every second in the daylight in the calm places while it feel like the rest of the world is out of control again.
Was it always like this, or does it feel more present at the moment, or am I just more aware of it at the moment? Not a fan and I tend to turn away from it again.
That always feels like the remedy for everything.
Just heading outside
