Boring Background
I'm Blingit. An Aussie SAHM who spends my life at the ballet studio with my kids and in my spare time i paint.
I can be a bit on and off again with my art, fits of activity where i finish more paintings in a week that i do in 5 months at other times.
As a rule i have been painting Daily Paintings. They keep my hand in and also stop my anxiety over not being good enough. i have a time limit and thats it. if it doesnt work, i learn something and move on.
From Daily Painting to Greeting Card — A Little Redbubble Revival
soooooo.....
It’s been a while since I revisited some of my older daily paintings, and this week I finally did something with one of them — I turned it into printed cards on Redbubble.
Yes, I know… Redbubble. Hardly the most thrilling of platforms these days, but you know what?
I now have a lovely physical copy of my painting, and it actually turned out really well.
no one has bought one besides me though... lol... i mean who needs a card that just has a painting stuck on the front. but good ole Redbubble... it lets you. lol
The Painting
This one was from my “one-hour painting a day” challenge I used to do to keep my hand in.
I’d forgotten how much I liked this particular little piece until I saw it printed on proper card stock.
The colours are very close to the original, which was a nice surprise.
Sometimes prints come out dull or oversaturated — this one landed beautifully in the middle.

You can see the card version here if you’re curious:

A Few Words About Redbubble...
So, confession time: I’ve been slowly going through my old Redbubble account and removing all the random stuff that doesn’t fit anymore.
There’s some seriously questionable “what was I thinking?” work on there from years ago — slowly cleaning house.
What is frustrating though is the current AI flood on the platform.
Don’t get me wrong — AI can make good and interesting work, and it’s a brilliant tool in the right hands.
But the amount of absolute nonsense going up right now is wild.
Like… do we really need another seven-fingered figure or a landscape with melted cats in it? 😂
It’s just visual noise, drowning out all the genuine creative stuff. now im not saying im amazing... im saying im trying for the ART.... NOT to make a buck off AI...
Makes it tough for traditional artists and illustrators to be seen.
Anyway, rant over.

The Silver Lining
Despite all that, I’m actually really pleased with how this card came out.
It’s nice to hold something tangible again — proof that even quick daily sketches can turn into something finished and giftable.
So yes, even if Redbubble isn’t the most glamorous place on the internet, I’m happy to give my old work a little second life there.

Weather Update (Because It’s Me)
The storms have finally calmed down for now.
There are a few blips showing up north on the radar, but hopefully nothing heading our way this afternoon.
The frog’s still hanging around, the cat’s recovered, and my paint table’s safe again.
Small wins all round. ☀️
Thanks for stopping by — and as always,
Happy painting (and printing)!
