Dual Faces Hurt

It was the funeral day of my father. The arrangement was made in the car parking of the building (because our home was on the 5th floor where it was pretty difficult to take and bring back the dead body). Along with relatives, there were neighbours who were side by side with us. I remember a lady who told me many times that she was available for any kind of help we needed at that time. I thanked her every time she presented the offer. I didn’t think that there was any kind of help needed. Nevertheless, I respected her for the good gesture she presented. Then, it so happened that some guests came and there was a need of some chairs. The lady came to my mind. I went to her and ask her if she could bring a couple of chairs from her home (as her home was on first floor). Assuming her desperate willingness to facilitate us at that time I thought she would do the needful at once, but her response disappointed me a lot. She had some lame excuses for how it was not possible for her arrange the chairs from her home. That’s how several people do at various spots in our lives. Their focus is not to be good but to look good. They present themselves with their words as if they are filled with kindness and compassion, but when the time of action comes they prove themselves to be deceiver. Isn’t it deception to let people believe on what you are not? Isn’t it deception to say things of which you don’t have any intention of? Isn’t it deception to let people trust you and shook their hands off when they need you to hold them? The other day my brother was telling about an incident happened at his workplace. The manager displayed irresponsibility towards his work. Something that the developers told him would be completed in a week, the manager conveyed to the client that it would take a month. Not only this but despite taking so long for each task the problems were arising in the project because half of the team wasn’t doing its work properly owing to the fact that the manager was dishonest with his duty. Whenever we take a job, it is a trust placed on us. We are supposed to perform our duties in the best way. It is quite a dishonest act to consciously be irresponsible for the tasks we are being paid for. I have come across several people in my life who appear to be my well-wisher at my face, but at my back they are the ones conspiring against me. What a hypocrisy! Isn’t it dishonesty to keep such dual faces?  Something that makes me value people a lot is the trait of being honest with their words. People whose actions are not contrary to their words are valuable. They can be relied on. Trustworthy and dependable people keep a high rank in my life. When an individual is honest towards another individual, the sentiment of being betrayed would vanish and stronger and reliable bonds would build. When people are honest with their work, the progress is evident. When organizations are honest in their dealings, prosperity prevails.
