A Stroll Back to Childhood

Happy Wednesday Hivers! ## One of the things I really enjoy when I’m in the province is looking forward to walking barefoot along the beach. I’m not sure if you feel the same way, but I love the sensation of the sand under my feet — it almost feels like getting a natural foot massage. I also read somewhere that walking barefoot is actually good for ourhealth and has some health benefits too. ##  ## When I went back to my mother’s hometown where I grew up, I made sure not to let my vacation end without walking barefoot on the beach. That afternoon, after running some errands, my mom and I agreed to take a stroll along the shore. This place truly brings back so many memories, it’s hard not to feel nostalgic. ##  ## I remembered that when we were kids, this beach used to be one of our favorite hangout spots. We would usually play here for hours. Whenever the tide went out, we’d collect edible shells so we could have free food for our meals. But as I’ve gotten older, I don’t do that as much anymore, bending down for so long just makes my neck ache! ##  ## ##  ##  ## During my most recent vacation, after my mom and I took our walk along the beach, she suggested that we go edible shell gathering — so we headed straight to the shoreline. You know, one of my favorite things to photograph is the tidal flats with the beautiful Bontoc Mountain in the background. I absolutely love the view in this spot. ##  ##  ## A little farther ahead from here is the diving board, but it’s quite a walk, so my mom and I didn’t go all the way there. If we had, it would’ve been dark by the time we got back. So instead, after our stroll along the beach, we just spent some time gathering edible shells. ##  ## We didn’t gather that many shells, and since we already had food prepared for dinner, we decided not to cook the ones we collected. Still, it felt so good to take that walk, not only do you get some exercise, but you also get to enjoy the beautiful views all around you.
