I believe this is my first watercolor drawing of a cat and I'm really happy how it turned out :D I used photo reference, so that helped greatly.

This was a part of my May Patreon portraits special promotion, I've reached out to a few supporters on another website who have bough my art and I got one response. Rhonda sent me photos of her incredibly adorable kittens and I have 2 more to draw, so stay tuned ;)

I used white space technique to paint this drawing. Since the cat is mostly white/light, I had to be careful with the strokes. It's not impossible to erase watercolors, but it can get messy and ruin the paper. The background of the photo was mostly grey/black, but I decided to use some colors to make the drawing more lively.

I used maybe a little too much yellow for the body, since I prefer paint over blank paper. I have some white watercolor, but it seems to work best in mix with other colors. Most watercolors sets don't really have white paint, since that's considered more like gauche paint.

I was worried for how the face would turn out, so I used a pencil to mark the eyes, I try to use it minimally, since pencils can show through the paint.

Almost done, missing just a few more details :D
