Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend another edition of AkibaFest in my city, Maracay. This festival is being held more and more frequently and that is excellent news for manga, anime and cosplay lovers who do not hesitate to attend massively to this event. One of the incentives of this event is that it is completely free, and despite that, there are different contests in which prizes are distributed, in addition, there is the presentation of a guitarist who is responsible for animating the event with the most representative opening and ending of the world of anime. It is worth mentioning that this edition of AkibaFest had the theme of the famous game League Of Legend.
It was a cloudy day, but quite hot, it seemed that the clouds only covered the glare but not the strong heat, however, it was not so complicated to move around the various improvised corridors of the festival. I was able to photograph some stands of merchandise and manga sales, but it was not easy, the large number of people made it difficult to access and therefore I could not take many pictures. There was material alluding to the most famous manga and anime and at very good prices.
There was also a food court where you could find hot dogs, instant ramen, sushi, ice cream, among other things, I could tell that the food was in high demand, perhaps the time caused most attendees to want to eat something to replenish energy. Additionally, there was a video game area with different consoles.
This event was held in the parking lot of the Paseo Estación Central shopping center, a very central location with good access to the different avenues of the city. I have always liked the structure of this mall because it is colonial style and it is in a perfect state of maintenance. In the photos you can see the large number of spectators who moved through the different areas talking, sharing and enjoying their common tastes.
It was very interesting to see the different works of the cosplayers, in this first picture you will see the great weapon that the girl made for her LOL character, it is impressive the level of detail considering that it is made entirely of cardboard, she definitely spent hours shaping it to make it look so great. Also other cosplayers who did a great job, I was able to photograph a few of them, but believe me there were many more and of great quality.
It was great to attend one more edition of AkibaFest, an event that month after month continues to grow along with the number of spectators who seem quite pleased with the organization of these events. Soon I will be attending others which are yet to be announced and of course I will share them with the community.
