Today, I am very happy because I am participating again in the incredible [Splinterlands Art Contest Week 370!](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-art-contest-week-370) and especially because I'm going to debut my new pencils, which my dear @jetta.amaya lovingly gave me, together with you all. For me, using this beautiful gift for the first time is a big deal, especially if I can do it with one of the Splinterlands cards, because I know I will enjoy it a lot. The card I chose this time is [SWAMP SPITTER](https://splinterlands.com/card-detail/520/regular/10/?tab=lore). Ever since I started exploring the wonderful worlds of cards, this is one I've always wanted to do, and the day has finally come.  For this work, I used 4H, HB, 6B, and 8B pencils; it was wonderful to explore this new relationship between graphite and paper. To be honest, I had never used 4H pencils before, and they definitely don't feel the same as other leads.  The first thing I did was make a sketch with an HB pencil, as it has a light stroke and shares some of the softness of the B pencil. From there, I began to explore the hatching with the 4H pencil, and as I marked the hatching, I added darker tones with the 6B and 8B pencils. Although drawing techniques must be mastered beyond the pencil, having a range of options with a characterization designed to give the drawing everything it needs is quite helpful. I loved drawing this card because it has a wonderful design. What I found easiest to do was the shading; from the shape to the chiaroscuro, it was significantly easier. Then I found it very easy to do the face as well, since it is small, with few features, and an important part is covered by the hat. Where I got a little stuck was with the chest and abdomen. I encountered many textures that required light and shadow, and although I tried my best, I was still a little dissatisfied. But this does not discourage me; on the contrary, it gives me a lot of motivation to continue generating better results.  As for the card [SWAMP SPITTER](https://splinterlands.com/card-detail/520/regular/10/?tab=lore), I find its story impressive. I always enjoy reading the legends behind each card, because not only are the designs impressive, but the stories behind the artwork are also quite inspiring. SWAMP SPITTER makes me think of the strength of the Maori people, although technically they didn't use blowguns, but if I close my eyes I can imagine SWAMP SPITTER performing a traditional and glorious Haka, which would undoubtedly be very powerful. In the video I'm sharing with you, you can see the entire process of making this great card. Unfortunately, the 3speak platform is still not working; at least my user account wouldn't open anymore. I already wrote to the platform, but I still haven't received a response. So for now, I'll continue to share the process with you on YouTube.  I am very grateful to be part of this initiative again. Every day I feel a little better and I feel that I am responding better to my processes. Clearly, it is something that I have to take slowly, without rushing, respecting my body and my mind. But I believe that every creative space in La Colmena is a safe place for all of us who sometimes feel that we have nowhere to go. El día de hoy estoy muy feliz porque vuelvo a participar en el increíble concurso de [Splinterlands Art Contest Week 370!](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-art-contest-week-370) y sobre todo porque voy a estrenar junto a ustedes mis nuevos lápices, que me regalo con mucho amor mi querida @jetta.amaya. Para mí, estrenar este hermoso regalo es todo un evento y más si puedo hacerlo con una de las cartas de Splinterlands, porque sé que lo disfrutare un montón. La carta que escogí esta vez, es [SWAMP SPITTER](https://splinterlands.com/card-detail/520/regular/10/?tab=lore) desde que empecé a explorar los maravillosos mundos de las cartas, esta es una de las que siempre había querido realizar y por fin ha llegado el día.  Para este trabajo utilice los lápices 4h,hb,6B,8B; fue maravilloso explorar esta nueva relación entre el grafito y la hoja. Porque para ser sincera, nunca había utilizado los lápices 4h, definitivamente no se siente igual que otras puntas.  Lo primero que hice fue realizar el boceto con el lápiz hb, por ser de trazo claro y compartir algo de la suavidad del B. A partir de allí empecé a explorar los tramados con el 4h y conforme marcaba las tramas fui agregando tonos más oscuros con el 6B y 8B. Si bien las técnicas de dibujo deben dominarse más allá del lápiz, tener un abanico de opciones con una caracterización diseñada para darle al dibujo todo lo que este requiere, es bastante amigable. Me encanto dibujar esta carta porque tiene un diseño maravilloso, lo que me resulto más fácil de realizar fue el sombre, desde la forma hasta el claroscuro fue significativamente fáciles. Después me resulto muy fácil también hacer la cara, ya que es pequeña, con pocos rasgos y una parte importante esta tapada por el sombrero. Donde me complique un poco fue con el pecho y el abdomen. Me encontré con muchas texturas que exigían luces y sombras y aunque trate de hacerlo lo mejor posible, aun me quede un poco inconforme. Pero esto no me desanima, todo lo contrario, me da mucho impulso para seguir generando mejores resultados.  En cuanto a la carta [SWAMP SPITTER](https://splinterlands.com/card-detail/520/regular/10/?tab=lore) su historia me parece impresionante, siempre disfruto de leer las leyendas de cada carta, porque si de por si los diseños son impresionantes, cada historias detrás del trabajo grafico es bastante inspirador. SWAMP SPITTER me hace pensar en la fuerza de los integrantes de la etnia maorí, aunque técnicamente estos no usaban cerbatanas, pero si cierro los ojos me puedo imaginar a SWAMP SPITTER haciendo un tradicional y glorioso Haka, sin duda seria con mucha fuerza. En el video que les comparto, podrán ver todo el proceso para realizar esta grandiosa carta. Lamentablemente la plataforma de 3speak sigue sin funcionar, por lo menos mi usuario no quiso abrir más, ya le escribí a la plataforma pero sigo sin recibir respuesta. Así que por lo pronto seguiré compartiéndoles el proceso por la plataforma youtube.  Estoy muy agradecida por estar en esta iniciativa nuevamente, cada día me siento un poco mejor de ánimo y siento que respondo mejor a mis procesos. Claramente es algo que tengo que vivir poco a poco, sin apresurar los tiempos, respetando mi cuerpo y mi mente. Pero creo que cada espacio creativo de la colmena es un lugar seguro para todos los que sentimos a veces que no tenemos a donde ir. Espero que disfruten este trabajo que he hecho con mucho empeño y dedicación.
