Hello~~ I live again!!! After a few grueling days at work, I finally managed to draw again ;;-;; I missed drawing so much ;;-;;
For this week, I went with the Madcap Magus card XD I swear I love this character so much because it just looks like a really strong mushroom but I think without the heroic pose, he would just be a cute little confused mushroom and I have fully convinced myself with this self-made lore XD

This was just loosely based on the card art and I love the card art a lot UwU he looks like a tough mushroom

So for my progression... I forgot to take a lot of progression shots XD So I basically have 2
What I did this time was that I started with the background which was some forest somewhere in which he could get lost in. The I wanted to make him stand out for now so I gave him a much darker color scheme compared to the one on the card art. I was pretty fast with this one this time because the background took me some 15 minutes, sketch was another 15 minutes because I was trying to play with the hands a little, but in the end I kind of just let them be bent a litte. Nothing special, I think.
Thin I worked up the rest of the colors, the shading, the blending and a few other little details that only I would probably notice XD But it is what it is and I know I have a hyper fixation on minor details again but at this point it does look pretty good already, it just lacked definition that I'm pretty used to
But after I finally did all the colors, the eyes and the outline, I had to adjust my color mapping too because the mushroom being too bright and red was bothering me a little and I like my colors harmonious. After the color mapping and adjustments, I I added the highlights and a few effects that I thought the staff could do and I tried drawing little butterflies to make it seem like he was casting a guiding light spell but IDK how that worked out for me. I think I should have chosen a different brush to make the butterflies but I am on the verge of falling asleep so I don't think I have enough brain to get there XD but maybe next time I'll give it a try just to see what the difference will be.

I really needed that time to relax and decompress because my work day has been concluding so late these days because of all the extra work plus I went drinking with my lab grampas yesterday and I conclude that double black Johnny walker and smule is not a good combination to down in a single night. Now I have a bit of a hangover and I am amazed I still got to finish this one because I am soooo close to passing out. Thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow and the last day of the internal audit because I swear ;;-;; This internal audit is delaying everything I need to process and report and it's stressing me out so much that I was surprised they actually let me drink in the lab when normally I'd get told off for even thinking of it or suggesting it. But this is how my life is now so oh well, I'm just happy I got to draw today UwU
