Some time ago, I took a stroll towards Bojongsari, an area in Depok that still has a green and cool atmosphere. There was one spot there that made me feel at home: Waduk Sawangan... The place is still quite natural , and the atmosphere is far from the hustle and bustle of the city 🏙️.
Since it's not too far from my house, I took my motorbike for a leisurely ride. The trip only took about 30–40 minutes ⌚. No hassle , just follow the main road towards Bojongsari, then turn a little until you find the waduk...
• 🧘 Morning Atmosphere by the Waduk
I arrived around 8 a.m. The air was still cool, there was a gentle breeze , and the Waduk water was completely calm 🌅🍃. The edge of the waduk was lined with wild trees and naturally growing bushes. Some residents were seen relaxing while fishing, while others were just sitting around chatting.
This place isn't famous or viral, but that's what makes it so different. There weren't many people , it wasn't crowded, and there were no man-made facilities to disturb. Just nature and local residents enjoying the morning in their own way 😇.
At the end of the waduk, I saw a small bridge. It turned out to be access to the Depok City Forest, which is currently under development. The residents I spoke with said the city forest is planned to be opened to the public starting August 5th. Wow , that's really interesting. It will be a pleasant green space for local residents...
•🚶 Wandering Around Bojongsari
Since Sawangan Waduk is part of the Bojongsari area, I wandered around the surrounding area. The road was narrow , lined with shady trees, and there were still rice paddies in places 😇.
I stopped and chatted with the locals. They talked about the waduk, the development of the urban forest , and even about daily life there. Sometimes it's things like that that make a trip memorable...
There was no real plan to go to this place, just going around on a motorcycle. Eh , I came across this waduk... It was quiet, the wind was nice, so I just stopped.
I sat for a while, opened my phone, took some pictures. It was normal, I just wanted to save the moment. I had no intention of making something cool.
I just stayed still while looking at the calm water. Not thinking about anything, just feeling the atmosphere. And sometimes that's enough.
No intention of finding inspiration, no intention of contemplating either. But yes, sitting for a while, not doing anything... can make your mind free too.
