¿Qué tal chicos? Como ustedes saben, soy fan de viajar, de conocer lugares y explorar todo lo que es la naturaleza. Recordé, que por allí, en el baúl de los recuerdos que son todas mis fotografías de todos esos viajes espectaculares que he podido realizar, aquel viaje a Gavidia.

How's it going, guys? As you know, I'm a fan of traveling, seeing new places, and exploring nature. I remembered that somewhere in the trunk of memories that are all my photographs from all those spectacular trips I've been able to take, there was that trip to Gavidia.

Es como un pueblo escondido dentro de las montañas, en el estado Mérida de Venezuela. Es totalmente increíble. Recuerdo que para ese tiempo me dirigía hasta allá en moto, en un paseo relámpago, diría yo. Solo de un día y una noche, pero fue un viaje muy espectacular.

It's like a village hidden in the mountains, in the state of Mérida, Venezuela. It's absolutely incredible. I remember that at that time I was heading there on my motorcycle, on a whirlwind trip, I would say. It was only one day and one night, but it was a spectacular journey.

Les recomiendo mucho ir a este lugar, ya que el paseo a través del camino para llegar hasta allí es totalmente montañoso, con riachuelos a los lados, que vienen desde la Sierra Nevada, literalmente. Y a pesar de que parece, por el sol radiante que hace durante el día, que es un lugar cálido, no lo es, la brisa es muy helada.

I highly recommend visiting this place, as the drive there is completely mountainous, with streams on either side that literally come from the Sierra Nevada. And even though it seems like a warm place due to the bright sunshine during the day, it isn't—the breeze is very cold.

En el camino te puedes encontrar con paredes de piedra, demasiado espectaculares. Es una vista muy, muy hermosa. Llegas al valle, encuentras un par de casas, alguna que otra tienda de comida, donde puedes tomar wifi, ya que por la ubicación es una zona que no tiene nada de cobertura, nada de señal.

Along the way, you will encounter spectacular stone walls. It is a very, very beautiful sight. When you reach the valley, you will find a couple of houses and a few food stores where you can connect to Wi-Fi, since the location is an area with no coverage or signal.

Como van a ver en las fotos, aproveché para hacer un poco de trekking, conocer un poco la montaña, ver el paisaje. Me van a ver, muy feliz en esas fotos, estaba viendo paisajes que nunca había visto antes, aunque fue poco el tiempo y no dio chance de hacer mucho, lo disfrute al 100%.

As you can see in the photos, I took the opportunity to do a little trekking, get to know the mountains a little, and see the landscape. You can see me looking very happy in those photos. I was seeing landscapes I had never seen before. Although it was only for a short time and I didn't get to do much, I enjoyed it 100%.

Pasé la noche allí, en una cabaña totalmente de piedra, que se calentaba como una estufa. Al día siguiente, en la mañana, fue una vista totalmente espectacular, ya que pude observar lo que fue una nevada del pico. Estar en sitios en el estado Mérida, me hacen vivir una realidad tan distinta a mi vida cotidiana y es algo que hace que cada viaje sea apasionante para mí.

I spent the night there, in a cabin made entirely of stone, which was heated like a stove. The next morning, the view was absolutely spectacular, as I was able to watch what was a snowfall from the peak. Being in places in the state of Mérida allows me to experience a reality so different from my everyday life, and that is something that makes every trip exciting for me.

Nota: Me encontré con un amigo peludo, muy lindo, muy juguetón, y estuve un rato también jugando con él. Las personas allí son bastante amables. "Gochos", como le dicen por acá.

Note: I met a furry friend, very cute, very playful, and I spent some time playing with him too. The people there are quite friendly. “Gochos,” as they call them here.

Gavidia, es un sitio que la verdad es bastante comercial, ya que van muchos turistas con guías especializados para que lo lleven a recorrer lo que son las diferentes lagunas que se encuentran por allí.

Gavidia is actually quite a commercial place, as many tourists go there with specialized guides to take them on tours of the different lagoons found there.

De hecho, cerca de donde pase la noche, empieza el camino que te conduce a la laguna de montaña más grande de Venezuela, llamada “La laguna del Santo Cristo”. Ese día que pase allí, casualmente venían bajando unas personas que venían de exploración eran cuatro personas y nos contaban que el frío era terrible allá acamparon tenían aproximadamente una semana en la montaña, la verdad fue bastante interesante hablar con estas personas, me parece que es tenaz pasar tanto tiempo en la intemperie y por supuesto, pues se debe estar totalmente equipado para no pasar por ningún momento desagradable.

In fact, near where I spent the night, there is a trail that leads to the largest mountain lake in Venezuela, called “La laguna del Santo Cristo.” On the day I was there, a group of four people who had been exploring came down and told us that it was terribly cold there. They had been camping for about a week in the mountains. It was really interesting to talk to these people. I think it takes a lot of determination to spend so much time outdoors, and of course, you have to be fully equipped so you don't have any unpleasant experiences.

En pocas palabras, les recomiendo este lugar, en él me sentí muy feliz; este viaje fue algo diferente a pesar del corto tiempo que lo viví, pero es una experiencia que me gustó contarles y que vean un poco de lo que es Gavidia el pueblito entre las montañas y lagunas.

In short, I recommend this place; I felt very happy there. This trip was something different, despite the short time I spent there, but it is an experience that I wanted to share with you so that you can get a glimpse of what Gavidia, the little town between the mountains and lagoons, is like.
