Located in Podesdorf am See on the shore of Lake Neusiedl, on the border of austria and Hungary it is about two kilometer long. I was looking forward to going into the water, but to my surprise it was very deep, you can walk hundreds meters and still stand you can stay in the middle of the lake withaut a problem.
The lake know also as the "Sea of the Viennese" it is a Unesco World Heritage cultural landscape. the geological formation dates back approximatly 13000 years. Because the lake is so shallow and flat, it feels like the water and sky merge into one. Romantic at sunset after a cycling trip maybe with a nice local wine wit this beautiful sky thats the essence of the lake Neusidl.
The bike trail around the lake is amazing, flat, scenic and you can cross to Hungary.
