I had the privilege of visiting one of the most extraordinary stilt houses in the world in Santa Rosa de Agua, Maracaibo, Venezuela, and I learned a lot about this curious architecture. It's an ancient learning process that has been passed down through generations and is an example of human adaptation to the environment. We can conclude that these people learn to live in the water... Crazy, right? But what if I told you that there are stilt houses in Portugal too? Would you believe me? Believe it because you will... There's a village called "Carrasqueira" where they built stilt houses, and today I'm showing them to you.🚙🧭

Many people visit at sunset, or at dusk with a clear sky, because the reflection of the river on the horizon gives us magical views that can only be seen here. It's located in the municipality of "Alcácer do Sal," less than two hours from Seixal on the southern edge of Lisbon. From Lisbon, it probably takes a little over two hours to get here.🚩📸🧭
En gmaps figuran como: (Porto Palafita da Carrasqueira) y si notas la puntuación tiene buena calificación porque en realidad la experiencia aquí es demasiado bonita, muchas personas lo visitan en la puesta de sol, o un atardecer con cielo limpio porque el reflejo del río en el horizonte nos da vistas mágicas que solo se ven aquí. Se encuentra en el municipio de "Alcácer do Sal" a menos de 2 horas desde Seixal en el margen sur de Lisboa, desde Lisboa hasta aquí probablemente unas dos horas y poco.🗺️🍛

Portugal has much more history and unlike any country in Latin America it is much older (established as a nation), therefore, in all the places we will visit we will collect centuries of traditions and cultures, the entire area (Alcácer do Sal) was already inhabited since the Iron Age, and passed through the hands of the Romans who efficiently exploited the resources of the "Sado River", here we will be able to learn about the relationship: man-Sado River and how they adapted to fishing in the area.📸🧭
Portugal tiene mucha más historia y a diferencia que cualquier pais de Latinoamérica es muchísimo más antiguo (establecido como nación), por tanto, en todos los sitios que visitaremos recolectaremos siglos de tradiciones y culturas, toda la zona de (Alcácer do Sal) ya era habitada desde la era de Hierro, y paso por manos de los Romanos quienes explotaron de forma eficiente los recursos del "Rio Sado", aquí podremos conocer la relación: hombre-rio sado y como se adaptaron para la pesca en la zona. 🚩🌍

It's incredible to be able to enjoy the landscapes that the Sado River has to offer, a wide variety of bird species, waders and herons, which are a whole repertoire of animals that we can photograph if we come to know the area. In fact, "Carrasqueria" is very popular for fishing and birdwatching, but be careful, this is protected by the Ministry of the Environment, which prohibits piloting drones, among other things, so as not to disturb the fauna. The river connects from here with Setubal, and if we're lucky, we might see some dolphins.⛵🌍
Es increíble poder disfrutar de los paisajes que tiene el río Sado para ofrecernos, una gran variedad de especies de aves, limícolas y garzas, las cuales son todo un repertorio de animales que podemos fotografiar si venimos a conocer la zona, en realidad es muy popular "Carrasqueria" por la pesca y el Birdwatching pero ten cuidado esto está protegido por el ministerio de ambiente lo que prohíbe pilotear drones entre otras cosas para no perturbar la fauna; el río se conecta desde aquí con Setubal, si tenemos suerte podríamos ver algunos delfines.🚙🌄

Before using the paths to the stilt houses, I deviated from the path to show them the boats used for fishing, many of them still active, and are used for local fishing at different times of the year. Carrasqueira was always important, since its gastronomy is based almost exclusively on seafood, and if we visit any restaurant we will hardly ever see beef offered on the menu.🌍⛵
Antes de utilizar las caminerías hacia los palafitos me desvié del camino para mostrarles los botes que se utilizan para la pesca, muchos de ellos aún están activos, y se emplean para la pesca local en diferentes épocas del año, Carrasqueira siempre fue importante, ya que su gastronomía es basada casi y exclusivamente en comida marina, y si visitamos cualquier restaurante difícilmente veremos carne de vaca ser ofrecida en el menú.🚩🧭
The stilt houses began to be built in 1960 when fishing in "Carrasqueira" was more in demand and the town grew more. It was full of tourists, when I arrived I saw two buses full of Spaniards go by, as I was saying, a very crowded area in summer, and now I know why... It's too beautiful, a unique experience in Portugal, these are those places we didn't know existed, but people like me discovered them and told people about them.🧭📸
