Hello, Worldmappin community. This is my first post here, and I’d like to take you to a little-visited place that has a lot to say. The cemetery of Baire is a secluded spot on the outskirts of the town of Baire. It’s a place that, beyond its graves, holds a certain beauty that transcends death.
In previous posts, I’ve made it clear that I don’t enjoy visiting these kinds of places, as being inside them makes me uneasy. However, after much insistence from a friend, I finally went.
Hola, comunidad de Worldmappin. Este es mi primer post en la comunidad, y quiero llevarlos a un lugar poco visitado, pero con mucho que decir sobre él. El cementerio de Baire es un lugar apartado, a la salida del poblado de Baire. Es un sitio que, más que tumbas, alberga belleza más allá de la muerte.
En posts anteriores he dejado claro que no me gusta visitar estos sitios, porque me incomoda estar dentro de ellos. Sin embargo, por la insistencia de un amigo, terminé yendo al lugar.
Al rededor de este cementerio llace un muro perimetral que le da poca visivilidad al exterior
At its entrance, as if we were about to step into the very world of the dead or into paradise, there stands an imposing iron gate with a cross and a name above it. This is highly symbolic, alluding to the threshold of something divine or evil.
En su entrada, como si fuéramos a adentrarnos en el mismísimo mundo de los muertos o en el paraíso, se encuentra una puerta enrejada muy imponente, con una cruz y el nombre encima. Esto resulta algo muy simbólico, refiriéndose a la entrada de algo divino o malvado.
Cuando entras te encuentras un panteon familiar y a sus alrededores una gran cantidad de tumbas y lapidas de todo tipo y de muchas lersonas fallecidas
All around it, numerous tombstones give the place a macabre atmosphere, yet one that is also calm and filled with peace. The crosses, many of them inscribed with “RIP” for the departed, reinforce that solemn ambiance.
A su alrededor, muchas lápidas le dan un aire macabro, pero a la vez tranquilo y lleno de paz. Las cruces, muchas de ellas con un “EPD” dedicado a los difuntos, refuerzan ese ambiente solemne.
The place has only two statues on different, very old graves. In the past, they used to place only pinnacles, but these statues belonged to families of great wealth and power in the town. Those who rest there must have been fighters or relatives of some of them.
El lugar solo tiene dos estatuas en tumbas distintas y muy antiguas. Antes solían colocar únicamente pináculos, pero estas estatuas pertenecen a familias con mucho dinero y poder en el pueblo. Quienes descansan en ellas deben de haber sido combatientes o familiares de algunos de ellos.
In these places, there are often all kinds of macabre witchcraft and graves left open due to poor maintenance. Yet, there are also flowers that reflect the idea that beyond death, there is life.
En estos lugares suele haber todo tipo de brujerías macabras y tumbas abiertas por un mal mantenimiento. Pero también hay flores que reflejan que, más allá de la muerte, hay vida.
I spent an hour in the cemetery, taking photographs with my friend, searching for shapes and for someone to share the journey with. For me, it is a great honor.
Estuve por una hora en el cementerio, fotografiando junto a mi amigo, buscando formas y compañía en el viaje. Para mí, es un gran honor.
I believe I’m still overcoming my fear of the cemetery, because being there gave me bad vibes. Although I took good photographs, I feel I shouldn’t go to such places. Especially in this cemetery, where all my deceased relatives are buried. Even so, after leaving, I don’t regret having gone and sharing the journey with you. Thank you for joining me on such a wonderful experience.
Creo que sigo superando mi temor al cementerio, porque estar allí me trajo malas vibras. Aunque tomé buenas fotografías, siento que no debería ir a esos lugares. Y más aún en este cementerio, donde están enterrados todos mis familiares fallecidos. Aun así, después de salir, no me arrepiento de haber ido y de mostrarles a ustedes el viaje. Gracias por acompañarme en esta experiencia tan maravillosa.
