ENGLISH VERSION
Once again trapped in the architectural tangle of the city (say Havana) and the narrow interweaving of its streets. On the one hand showing the wrinkles of centuries of walking itself, and on the other hand exhibiting the cosmetics and make-up of repair and hard preservation, I felt the need for a break in my hurried tour.

And how good that all the architects of cities and neighborhoods have thought of designing parks, which in addition to breaking the monotony of a building next to another as spaces to recycle oxygen, rest or interact socially.
Today, once again, on my way from Parque Central to Avenida del Puerto, I passed by one of the few streets in the historical (or older) part of the Capital, which does not respect the grid layout with which the city grew up: Juan de Dios Street.
It is precisely from this street that a park takes its name, although it is not as shady as the Humboldt park on the Calle de los Oficios, for example.
This public space is located between the Juan de Dios and Empedrado arteries and when I asked a local for its name a local answered me: well, it should be called Cervantes _ while he pointed me to a seated sculpture of the one-armed man of Lepanto located on a high pedestal in the form of a tower (too high for my taste) in the center of the wide park _ but everyone knows it as Juan de Dios, because of the narrow street that runs along its right side andds further down meeting a small street between streets.
The open space and crossed by sidewalks in which from stretch to stretch offers to the passer-by benches of old model, cast in iron and arranged at prudent distances so that they have some privacy between them, is surrounded by neighborhood houses and important buildings of the state administration, such as the Ministry of Finance and prices and the MINCIN.
The Sculpture of Cervantes, carved in marble, follows the respected Italian classical tradition, and represents the eminent writer leaning back in his work chair at the moment when he tilts his head in search of the exact phrase or word for one of his great literary creations.
The pedestal that supports the marble scene is not very high and has a very original structure, but I would have liked it a little lower to be able to converse with him a little and ask him something about Don Quixot e and his noble squire Sancho Panzas.
The spacious park was quiet and cozy, and although the day was quite cool due to the proximity of the rain that later turned out to be a heavy downpour, I decided to take a few minutes of rest while I imagined talking with Cervantes, who as I could deduce had not yet participated in the battle of Lepanto, where he lost his left hand, because he holds in his left hand a notebook.
Then I continued towards the Avenida del Puerto leaving behind the tranquility of the park of Juan de Dios where Miguel de Cervantes continues to create perhaps his masterpiece. Thank you for being in such nice company.
VERSION EN ESPAÑOL
Otra vez atrapado en la maraña arquitectonica de la ciudad (digase la Habana) y el entretejido estrecho de sus calles. Ya digase aun mas , la Habana Vieja por una parte mostrando las arrugas de siglos de andarse asi misma , y por la otra exhibiendo los cosmeticos y maquillajes de la reparacion y la esforzada conservacion, he sentido la necesidad de un descanso en mi apurado recorrido.
Y que bien que a todos los arquitectos de ciudades y barrios se les ha ocurrido diseñar parques, que además de romper la monotonia de una construcción al lado de otra como espacios para reciclar el oxígeno , descansar o interactuar socialmente .
Hoy otra vez haciendo una travesía dede Parque Central hacia avenida del puerto pasé por una de las pocas calles de de la parte historica(o ma añejada de la Capital , que no respeta el trazado cuadricular con que crecio la urbe hablame de intramuros : la calle Juan de Dios.
Precisamente de esa calle toma el nombre un parque que aunque arbolado no es tan sombreado como el de como.por ejemplo el de Humboldt en la calle de los Oficios
Este espacio público está ubicado entre las arterias Juan de Dios y Empedrado y al preguntar a un lugareño por su nombre un lugareño me respondió: bueno, debía llamarse el de Cervantes _ mientras me señalaba para un escultura sedente del del manco de Lepanto ubicada sobre un alto pedestal en forma de torre( demasiado alto para mi gusto) en el centro del amplio parque _ pero todos lo conocer por el de Juan de Dios, por la estrecha calle que corre por su lateral derecho y termina mas abajo encontrándose con uns pequeña entre calle.
El espacio abierto y cruzado por aceras en las que de tramo en tramo ofrece al transeúnte se us bancos de modelo antiguo, fundidos en hierro y dispuesto a distancias prudentes para que tengan cierta privacidad entre ellos , esta rodeado por viviendas vecindarias e importantes edificios de la administración estatal , Como el ministerio de finanzas y precios y el del MINCIN..
La Escultura de Cervantes, tallada en marmol, sigue la respetada tradicion clásica italiana, y representa al l eminente escritor reclinado en su silla del trabajo en el momento en que ladea la cabeza en busca de la frase o la palabra exacta para una de sus grandes creaciones literarias.
El.pedestal que sieve de apoyatura a la escena de mármol no es muy alto y tiene su estructura bien original, pero me hubiese gustado un poquito mas baja para poder conversar con el un poco y preguntarle algo sobre el Quijote y su noble escudero Sancho Panzas.
El parque espaciado me resulto tranquilo y acogedor, y aunque el dia estaba bastan te e fresco pore la cercanía de la lluvia que después resulto un denso aguacero, decidi tomarme unos minutos de descanso mientras imaginariamente dialogaba con Cervantes , que según pude deducir todavía no ha había participado en la batalla de Lepanto ,donde perdio su mano izquierda, pues sostiene en la mimma un cuaderno de notas.
Después segui rumbo hacia la avenida del Puerto dejando atras la tranquilidad del parque de Juan de Dios donde sigue creando Miguel de Cervantes quizas su obra cumbre.
