This trek was done in the month of June, we had reached Himachal Pradesh in the north of India, here we had to support a running event. In this event some runners were running 480 km in 120 hours. A few days before the race, we all decided to go to the famous Hindu temple of Solang Valley in the morning, whose name is Anjani Mahadev. This temple was just 3 km away from where we were staying, so at around 09:30 in the morning we left for our destination on foot.
To reach Anjani Mahadev, one can use foot, horse and ATV, we were capable to reach on foot, so we started on foot. It was early morning so tourists have not started coming yet, the whole track is completely empty, otherwise during the day it becomes very crowded here and then it becomes difficult to walk. Solang village is visible from a distance, which is located at an altitude of 2500 meters, the path to Mount Patalsu Peak goes through this village.
From the way, we can see the ropeway built above the paragliding site, which is still running and it is very nice to see the trolley moving in the deodar forest. We enter the temple gate and move ahead, there are a total of 7 of us and everyone is walking according to their own pace and enjoying nature. There is also a boy from Gujarat with us who has come to Himachal Pradesh for the first time and is absolutely amazed to see the views here.
A local uncle is coming down driving a group of horses, after talking to him we come to know that he also has sheep and goats up there to whom he will go back in the afternoon. On the way, we see wild walnut trees, somewhere there are pine trees and somewhere deodar trees. Suddenly clouds appear in front and the mountain situated above the temple gets lost in white and grey clouds. Looking back, the mountain with Bhrigu lake is visible where a trail race is held in October.
We stop after 2 km and enjoy the views around us, some of our companions are tired and sweat has appeared on their foreheads. We should have brought water but we did not bring it and did so because after walking 3 km we will get drinking water at the temple, that too completely natural and flowing. Walking on the small and big stones lying on the way, we are moving closer to our destination. Now we can see the waterfall falling from above as well as the temple built below.
Everyone has to take off their shoes after going at a certain distance from the temple. We also take off our shoes and climb the stairs leading to the temple. There is a Shivling here and in front of it is the statue of Nandi. Water of the waterfall is falling from a height of 120 feet on both of them. In winters, due to low temperature here, a very big Shivling is formed, then reaching here is also a big challenge. I have never come here in winters but I really want to come in winters.
This place was discovered by a Mahatma years ago when God appeared in his dream that he should go to Solang Valley and establish a temple there. Since then, devotees come here and worship here. This place has special significance among Hindus. Lord Hanuman's mother also did penance here, so this place is known as Anjani Mahadev. After spending about an hour here, we go back.
On the way, we see some horses, see tourists enjoying the zip line, see people selling garlands, see people crossing the wooden bridge built on the river flowing from here, nearby JCB is digging and trying to fix the road. So this is the description of our journey to Anjani Mahadev, which was very wonderful for all of us. I hope you people also liked this religious journey.
