Last Saturday morning we went to this new local attraction in our place located in the mountainous village of Nug-as here in the town of Alcoy. Together with my cousins and their pairs, we all agreed to witness their newly discovered local attraction, as locals call it as "Sea of Clouds". Though we are all living in Alcoy it's our first time witnessing such spectacular scenery.
Sea of Clouds can be seen in the highest peak of the village, the Mount Campetra of Nug-as. We even woke up as early as 3 o'clock in the morning since we have to travel almost an hour just to get there by motorcycle. To see the Sea of clouds we were advised by some locals that it can be best seen from 5 o'clock to 6 in the morning.
As we arrived at Mt. Campetra which is the best spot to witness the Sea of Clouds. We arrived even earlier and waited for a few minutes until daylight shows up. At last, the first glimpse of daylight showed up and so the spectacular sea of clouds as well, and immediately the girls went for snaps with the sea of clouds as their background.
Indeed a sea of clouds it is. Imagine seeing clouds above the clouds, how cool is that? But it's a fog actually that can usually be seen in the rainforest, where barangay Nug-as of Alcoy is considered one. In fact, Nug-as is a forest reserve of Cebu province considered as the last remaining rainforest of the entire Cebu island. Look how beautiful it is in this photo.
We make the most of our stay on the spot we are in, we made more snaps of it selfies, and group pictures as the sea of clouds went off gradually.
And as we descend from the peak of Mt. Campetra, fog still remains on some portions of the area and it felt so cold. One thing also, if you plan to visit the sea of clouds of Alcoy make sure to bring a jacket or sweater with you. No wonder they also dubbed the place as little Baguio of Alcoy.
