About 20 km from Hoi An and 50 km from Da Nang (Vietnam) lays a beautiful nature reserve, offering something for everyone. The first thing you will see when entering this park is the big lake (and a smaller one on the left hand as well It’s a perfect spot to have a picnic and relax.
Then if you continue beyond the lake, you will have some stream areas with many natural pools to choose from. If you decide to wonder around a bit and want to discover more small pools you can climb over the big rocks and go more upwards. If you continue upwards, you will meet a point where you will encounter massive rocks which block the way further. Behind those rocks lays a waterfall… One time I took some friends who wanted to see the waterfall, but we ended up stuck behind the massive rocks because nobody listened to me when I told them this was not the path I took when I first visited and succeeded to get to the waterfall. Nevertheless, I hadn’t been to the small pools side of the stream, so it was fun and refreshing for me.
A different path leads you to the waterfall, however I don’t recommend anyone going there unless with somebody who knows the way and is familiar with the conditions of the trail. Some parts of the trail require a great amount of focus and balance. The first time I went to the waterfall was with a local friend from Hoi An whom easily completed the track wearing not tracking shoes but flip flops.
The second time I went alone and discovered an area beyond the waterfall which was so beautiful. Last week I took another friend for the hike to the waterfall and this time I felt more confident in finding the way to the waterfall than ever before and so happy to be able to share this amazing peaceful spot with a friend.
