Hello dear Hivers!
Today I am sharing about my little refuge. I took a long walk and came here last Friday just about after lunch. Walking is good for digestion so to speak. I call this my refuge, because here I can meditate and relax. It is so serene, especially on weekdays. It is so quiet and so peaceful that you just hear the chirping or maybe singing of the birds up on the trees as if they communicate with one another.
The area is not far away from us. I passed this pathway which is currently mainly used for agriculture. This place as seen here will be eventually and slowly transformed into a recreational area. The district administrators started the campaign of transformation in 2015. Last year, the whole of the fields were planted with parsley and this season, they have wheat. I am in awe whenever I tread this path because it's all green and particularly when under a blue sky... “it´s food for my soul”.
On this day, I tried an app I learned from @erikah that would count my steps and the distance I went so far to reach my target. And as in the screenshot, it says more or less I walked 4.3 kilometers going to the Saltenstrasse entrance of the Park and back. One thing that I am not sure about is the calorie count. But it's good to know at least the time that took me to and from the park had been 1.5 hours which is correct.
The roaring of the tractor tilling the soil is music to my ears. The tilling helps control the weeds at the same time loosen those hardened soil. As a kid, I used to dream of becoming a farmer, but I chose the practical profession of being an accountant...in short, becoming a corporate slave, lol!
Once I reached the entrance of the park, I was mesmerized by the feeling of being under the tall trees, a wild jungle in a city where flora and fauna are at its best.
It was nice sitting on a huge bark that had fallen onto the forest ground fronting the water. As I see the reflection of the trees on the water surface, I closed my eyes and saw myself floating on air.... my mind shifted to my teenage years and all the fun I had as a volleyball player during the High School. The boys and girls HS have separate wings as usual for a private catholic school. To date, I am still in contact with a couple of my co-players. Those days had been full of fond memories especially during the group practice in the quadrangle where the Senior HS boys hung around and always cheered for us. As young girls, we were so proud of course.
I saw the aquatic birds gently swimming in pairs as if they were so happy by just being there. I was wondering what they were thinking?
Before I left, I thanked the Almighty for the spiritual enlightenment. I felt a cool air swept my face as if it was a sign that I was being heard and appreciated.
It was time to go back and I am sure I will come again.... Have a nice one and see you around!
