This time, I want to share about my trip to a place I initially underestimated. It's called Sidoguro Hill, located in Klaten, Central Java.
Have you heard.? I first learned about this place from photos on social media. I thought to myself, "Ah, it's probably just a regular photo spot with good editing". But out of curiosity, and since the location wasn't too far away, I decided to head there with some friends on a weekend.
The location of Sidoguro Hill is really easy to find, right by the famous Rawa Jombor. From the parking area, we are greeted by an archway and a large sign that says "Bukit Sidoguro". The entrance fee? It's super affordable.!! Ideal for students or anyone looking for a budget friendly getaway while still enjoying great views.
The first challenge truly begins right here. To reach the top, dozens or maybe hundreds of colorful steps (hehe, I didn't count) have to be conquered. I had much energy at first. I paused then to take some photos at every few steps. Though I started to get out of breath after a while! If it is your want to come here, remember that this involves some physical preparation. Therefore, make sure to wear quite comfortable footwear so you are ready. To wear high heels is just something that you should not even consider at all.
After I battled against gravity until I caught my breath, I then reached the top. And you know what? That fatigue disappeared, making it totally worthwhile.
The view from right up here was quite great. It exceeded my expectations. From above, the huge expanse over Rawa Jombor with floating stalls and small boats was stunningly visible. The backdrop of green hills beside the blue sky created that peaceful atmosphere also. The gentle breeze made it cooler.
The summit is not the only place to find fascination. This place has been cleverly arranged into more of a paradise for photo enthusiasts by the management. Unique spots abound greatly. Honestly, I was shocked. It seems almost every space is instagrammable since this spot gives many places for photos. I felt as if I was on a hilltop amusement park, and not in Klaten.
Sidoguro Hill shows me places can be better than their pictures. Being there along with feeling the atmosphere create a unique sensation. To see such a view with your own eyes is also just irreplaceable. It's a creative tourist destination in that it combines interesting man made spots with natural beauty, not just an ordinary hill. It’s definitely worth a visit in case you are in Klaten, Solo, or Jogja.
