My route today starts from the city of San Francisco, just before crossing the General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge that connects Maracaibo with the rest of the municipalities in the south of the lake. I confess that whatever means of transport I use to get to the other side, I always feel a little scared when doing so. This time was my first time on a motorcycle. There was a slight line of cars on the bridge due to maintenance work being carried out, but I didn't miss the opportunity to take a great photo.   Once we left the bridge behind, we took a road called Falcón-Zulia, which connects both states and takes us to the entrance of the municipality of Miranda, where the Ports of Altagracia are located. This journey took approximately 50 minutes.  Not only was it my first time crossing the bridge on a motorcycle, but it was also my first time visiting Los Puertos de Altagracia. I had always been told that this area of the Miranda municipality is very dangerous, or at least it was in the past because it was a hotbed for organized crime, but I still took a tour of its historic center and its beautiful streets, which are also very close to Lake Maracaibo.      In its historic center, there are two important sites for the history and culture not only of the municipality but also of the country. One of them is the house of Monsignor Dr. Mariano Parra, who was born in Puertos de Altagracia and was also the third bishop of Cumaná. The other is the home of the hero Francisco María Faría, who played an important role in the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo. Our liberator Simón Bolívar also stayed at this site. Both houses feature colonial architecture, with the difference that outside Faria's house there are two cannons used in battles. I would have liked both houses to be open so I could see what they hold inside.    My fear crumbled when I started walking its streets and felt an enormous sense of calm, because it wasn't like they made me believe; it was a great route. Mi ruta del día de hoy inicia desde la ciudad de San Francisco, justo antes de pasar el Puente General Rafael Urdaneta que conecta a Maracaibo con el resto de los municipios en el Sur del Lago, confieso que cualquiera que sea el medio de transporte que pueda utilizar para llegar al otro lado siempre siento un poco de miedo al hacerlo, está vez fue mi primera vez en moto, había una ligera cola de carros en el puente debido a que están realizando labores de mantenimiento al mismo, pero no desaproveche la oportunidad para tomar una grandiosa fotografía.
Una vez que dejamos el puente atrás, tomamos una carretera llamada Falcón- Zulia dicha vía comunica ambos estados, la cuál nos lleva hasta la entrada el municipio Miranda donde se encuentra los Puertos de Altagracia, este trayecto duró aproximadamente 50 minutos.
No sólo era mi primera vez pasando el puente en moto sino mi primera vez visitando Los Puertos de Altagracia, siempre me habían dicho que esta zona del municipio Miranda es muy peligrosa, o lo era en el pasado por ser cuna de mafias, pero igual hice mi recorrido por parte de su casco histórico y sus lindas calles que también se encuentran muy cerca del Lago de Maracaibo.
En su casco histórico se encuentra dos sitios importantes para la historia y cultura no solo del municipio sino del país, uno de ellos es la casa del Monseñor Dr. Mariano Parra, quién nació en los Puertos de Altagracia y además fue el tercer obispo de Cumaná, por otra parte se encuentra el hogar del prócer Francisco María Faría quién tuvo un papel importante en la Batalla Naval del Lago Maracaibo, en este sitio también se hospedó nuestro Libertador Simón Bolívar, ambas poseen un estilo arquitectónico colonial, con la diferencia de que afuera de la casa de Faría se encuentran dos cañones utilizados en batallas, me hubiera gustado que ambas estuvieras abiertas para ver que guardan en su interior.
Mi miedo se desmoronó cuando empecé a recorrer sus calles y sentí una enorme tranquilidad, pues no fue como me hicieron creer, fue una grandiosa ruta.
