My city is home to buildings that are preserved in time, two of them are the Central Hospital of Maracaibo and the Santa Ana Chapel, I took a part of the day Sunday to make a short tour of each of them and although I could not visit inside, part of its external structure shows part of its antiquity.  The Central Hospital of Maracaibo or Dr. Urquinaona also in the past called Hospital de Santa Ana, is the oldest health care center in the city, its inauguration was in 1608, its architecture is of a colonial style, currently part of this structure is not used but is preserved as part of the heritage of our state and it is a pity that its main entrance remains closed.      Part of its history is reflected in plaques on its facade, they speak that its founders were Don Francisco and Doña Ortiz del Basto, its last restoration and modernization was in 2009 by the governor of the time Manuel Rosales Guerrero, currently the hospital has a new area for emergency and outpatient consultations.     On one of its walls is reflected a poem by the Zulian Idelfonso Vasquez called **El rayo de Luz** that reads: *"Quick messenger of those worlds, that recaman and populate the void, finds narrow the rounded areas and fits in a drop of dew. It is in the moon a diamond brooch for God pinned in the nocturnal veils; in the sparkle, a shining serpent; and in the iris a crown of the heavens. Right next door is the Santa Ana Chapel, which is one of the oldest churches in the city of Maracaibo, its construction dates back to the seventeenth century, as an annex to the Central Hospital of Maracaibo with the intention of giving comfort or faith to the relatives of those who were battling for their lives, its walls were built with mud, although its external facade has been restored over the years but retaining its wooden doors and windows.     It was declared a National Historic Monument in 1960, also in this temple the Artistic Circle of Zulia and the Patriots met in 1812 to conspire for the independence of Maracaibo. Justo al lado se encuentra la Capilla Santa Ana, que es una de las iglesias más antiguas de la ciudad de Maracaibo, su construcción se remonta al siglo XVII, como un anexo al Hospital Central de Maracaibo con la intención de dar consuelo o fe a los familiares de quienes se encontraban batallando por sus vidas, sus paredes fueron construidas con barro, aunque su fachada externa ha sido restaurada con el pasar de los años pero conservando sus puertas y ventanas de madera.
Fue declarado como Monumento Historico Nacional en 1960, además en este templo el Circulo Artístico del Zulia y los Patriotas se reunían en 1812 para conspirar por la independencia de Maracaibo.
