Every journey has a final destination, so after touring the [Boulevard of Mara](https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@noalys/visit-to-the-santa-cruz-de-mara-boulevard-or-visita-al-bulevar-de-santa-cruz-de-mara), [Bolívar Square in Mara](https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@noalys/in-plaza-bolivar-in-santa-cruz-de-mara-or-en-la-plaza-bolivar-de-santa-cruz-de-mara) and the [Iglesia María Auxiliadora](https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@noalys/visit-to-the-church-of-mary-help-of-christians-in-santa-cruz-de-mara-or-visita-a-la-iglesia-maria-auxiliadora-de-santa-cruz-de), we took the Troncal del Caribe highway and drove for about an hour and a half until we reached Caimare Chico Beach, which has sentimental value for me. During my childhood and adolescence, I spent many wonderful moments with my family in this place, and although it is a bit desolate and far from my home, that was no obstacle to getting there.  A sign reading "Welcome to Caimare Chico Beach" let us know we had arrived, along with an "Antiishi Jaya," which means "Welcome" in Wayuunaiki, the language of the Wayuu people who inhabit part of this municipality of Mara, located in Zulia, Venezuela. From the entrance, we had to walk about 50 meters to reach the shore.      It was Saturday, around 11 in the morning. I expected to find a lot of people on the beach, but that wasn't the case. It was just us and three other people. I remembered that it wasn't vacation season, but the fact that it was almost deserted allowed me to stand in front of the sea and enjoy its gentle breeze even more, the whisper of the waves, feel the sun, and of course see the beautiful blue sky that accompanied me that day. It's simply magical and necessary for my soul.    Apart from us bathers, there were three locals who rented out huts where we could rest from the sun and store our belongings for $5. We offered $2 because we had forgotten to bring more cash with us, and they accepted, especially since we weren't going to be there for very long.      After leaving our things and putting on our swimsuits and sunscreen, we walked along the shore for a few minutes. The sand was dark brown, and from both the right and left ends, all we could see was the beach and the huts. The water was full of foam formed by the decomposition of organic matter in the sea, and the tide was a little high. and the waves were very rough and easily pushed us around, but we still enjoyed a swim for about two hours. We needed it!   Before leaving, we climbed some small dunes and were able to get a better view of the beach above the huts, which looked spectacular. Its expanse seemed endless, and the sound of the waves from this point seemed to blend with the sound of the wind, producing a feeling of well-being and gratitude.   A bird flying through the beautiful sky reminded me how free and happy I felt at that moment, because life is a journey and it's always good to return to the places we once loved to be.  .jpg)  It was time to leave, and with a heavy heart but very grateful, I had to leave Caimare Chico Beach behind and return home. Todo recorrido tiene un destino final, así que después de recorrer el [Bulevar de Mara](https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@noalys/visit-to-the-santa-cruz-de-mara-boulevard-or-visita-al-bulevar-de-santa-cruz-de-mara), la [Plaza Bolívar de Mara](https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@noalys/in-plaza-bolivar-in-santa-cruz-de-mara-or-en-la-plaza-bolivar-de-santa-cruz-de-mara) y la [Iglesia María Auxiliadora](https://hive.blog/hive-163772/@noalys/visit-to-the-church-of-mary-help-of-christians-in-santa-cruz-de-mara-or-visita-a-la-iglesia-maria-auxiliadora-de-santa-cruz-de), tomamos la carretera Troncal del Caribe y recorrimos aproximadamente una hora y media hasta llegar a la Playa Caimare Chico, la cuál tiene un valor sentimental para mi, durante mi niñez y adolescencia pase grandes momentos al lado de mi familia en este lugar y aunque se encuentra un poco desolada y alejada de mi casa eso no fue impedimento para llegar hasta allí.
Un letrero de "Bienvenidos a la Playa Caimare Chico" nos hizó saber que habíamos llegado además de un "Antiishi Jaya" lo que significa Bienvenidos en Wayuunaiki que es la lengua de los Wayuu que habitan en parte de este municipio Mara que se encuentra en Zulia, Venezuela, desde su entrada hacía falta recorrer unos 50 metros más para llegar hasta la orilla de la playa.
Era sábado aproximadamente las 11 de la mañana, yo esperaba encontrar mucha gente en la playa, pero no fue así solo eramos nosotros y tres personas más, recordé que no estamos en temporada de vacaciones, pero el que estuviera casi desolada me permitió pararme frente al mar y disfrutar aún más de su suave brisa, el susurro de las olas, sentir el sol y porsupuesto ver el hermoso cielo azul que me acompañaban ese día, es sencillamente mágico y necesario para mi alma.
A parte de nosotros los bañistas habían tres locales quiénes alquilaban las chozas para reposar un rato del sol y guardar nuestras cosas por 5$, ofrecimos 2$ porque olvidamos llevar un poco más de efectivo con nosotros y ellos aceptaron además no estaríamos tanto tiempo.
Después de dejar nuestras cosas y ponernos ropa de baño y protector solar recorrimos unos minutos la orilla, su arena era de un tono marrón oscuro, de ambos extremos derecho y izquierdo solo podía verse la playa y las chozas, el agua estaba llena de espuma que se forma por la descomposición de materia orgánica en el mar, la marea estaba un poco alta, las olas estaban muy agitadas y nos empujaban con facilidad pero igual disfrutamos de un baño de aproximadamente 2 horas, lo necesitábamos
Antes de irnos subimos a unas pequeñas dunas y podíamos tener mejor vista de la playa por encima de las chozas, lo cuál se veía espectacular, su extensión no parecía tener fin, el sonido de las olas desde este punto parece mezclarse con el del viento y solo produce una sensación de bienestar y agradecimiento.
Un ave volando por el maravilloso cielo me recordó lo libre y feliz que me sentía en ese momento, porque la vida es un viaje y siempre es bueno volver a los lugares en donde amamos estar alguna vez.

Llegó la hora de irnos y con el corazón arrugado, pero muy agradecida, tuve que dejar la Playa de Caimare Chico atrás para volver a mi hogar.
