About 30 minutes from the city of Barquisimeto, is located the capital of the Jiménez municipality: QUÍBOR, name that in indigenous language means "Sowing and Harvesting", giving a small sample of the agricultural/productive wealth of these lands.
Founded in June 1620 as the town of Nuestra Señora de Altagracia de Quíbor, by Captain General Francisco de la Hoz Berríos over the existing indigenous settlement at that time.
A unos 30 minutos de la Ciudad de Barquisimeto, se ubica la capital del municipio Jiménez: QUÍBOR, nombre que en lengua indígena significa "Sembrar y Cosechar", dando así una pequeña muestra de la riqueza agrícola/productora de estas tierras.
Fundada en Junio de 1620 como la población de Nuestra Señora de Altagracia de Quíbor, por el Capitán General Francisco de la Hoz Berríos sobre el poblado indígena existente para aquel entonces.
This place is located in the depression of the Quíbor Valley at about 700 meters above sea level, with a horizontal, dry surface, in whose entrails is kept a large water reserve that manages to make these fertile lands produce a large amount of horticultural products in this part of the western center of the country.
Este lugar se ubica en la depresión del Valle de Quíbor a unos 700 msnm, contando con una superficie horizontal, seca, en cuyas entrañas se guarda una gran reserva de agua que logra hacer producir a estas fértiles tierras una gran cantidad de productos hortícolas en esta parte del centro occidental del país.

Quíbor is considered one of the main handicraft cities of Venezuela; people from all over the country come to this place to buy some of the unique pieces that are made here.
Quíbor es considerada como una de las Principales Ciudades Artesanales de Venezuela; Personas de todo el país se dirigen este lugar para comprar alguna de las piezas únicas que acá elaboran.
In the popular market "La Tinaja" you can find many of these handicrafts, including musical instruments, porrones, hammocks, wall decorations, paintings, rag dolls, ceramic dolls, liqueurs, homemade sweets, among others...
En el mercado popular "La Tinaja" se consiguen muchas de estas manifestaciones artesanales, entre las que se destacan los instrumentos musicales, porrones, hamacas, adornos para pared, cuadros, muñecas de trapo, muñecos de cerámica, licores, dulces caseros, entre otros...

***Between Gullies | Entre Cárcavas***
This place is located on the road to the city of Quibor, from far away they seem just mounds of land in the middle of the great Xerophilic landscape, but when you get into them you discover impressive earthy skyscrapers.
Este lugar se encuentra en la vía hacia la ciudad de Quibor, desde lejos parecen solo montículos de tierras en medio del gran paisaje Xerófilo, pero cuando te adentras en ellas descubres rascacielos terrosos impresionantes.
These are the Carcavas or Tubifications as they are really called, which are subway channel formations due to the progressive removal of the soil by the erosion of rainwater and air currents.
Así son las Cárcavas o Tubificaciones como realmente se le llaman, las cuales son Formaciones de canales subterráneos debido a la remoción progresiva del suelo por la erosión de las corrientes de agua de lluvia y aire.
This particular ecosystem provides unique living conditions for a great variety of species that inhabit it, both plants (cactus, buches, cují and agaves) and animals (lizards, owls, owls, owls of the camanario and birds of the area such as the turpial, as well as a large number of insects).
