A monsoon day at The Gemstone Retreat-

This is a place situated in the exact middle of the Upper Kullu Valley with best views you can have of the valley. Situated in between apple orchard are three beautiful cottages that are collectively called The Gemstone Retreat. It is the best place in the town known for peaceful and comfortable stays.

The place where this is situated is called Garh which is near to Baragran Village. It is just a km away from the highway from the other side which makes it at a perfect spot which is at a perfect distance from the main market and also at a perfectly secluded spot. In short, it offers you the best of both worlds with the peace and tranquility of a secluded place and ease of being at a perfect distance from the market to maintain that secludedness.

The best thing about this places is the garden which is always lush green with organic vegetables and fruits. During a monsoon days like this one, you can expect clouds all above you with frequent visits from sun as well. The temperature is as perfect as it can be during this time.

You will definitely forget about all the worries of your life if you have any when you visit this place. Let me tell you about the history of place a little bit, Garh area which is now full of apple orchards, once used to be the palace of the King ruling this district because of its perfect location and the panoramic views of the valley that made it easy to administer.

Fast forward a couple hundred years, there wasn’t a single house here for a really long time except some houses made by people migrated from Lahol Spiti district. Local people only used this place for growing apples until The Gemtone Retreat was built here which opened the doors to tourists to experience this heavenly place.

Now this place has more than 100 5 star reviews on Airbnb and still counting. If you ever come to Manali, you should definitely consider this place. Photos are just a mere glimpse of what this place actually is.

The Gemstone Retreat offers three cottages named The Emerald, The Sapphire and The Diamond with the Diamond being the biggest and latest and The Sapphire being the oldest and The Emerald being cozy and budget friendly.

This particular day was a mixed one with clouds occasionally covering the whole sky and sometimes sun showing up to light everything up as you can see in the photos too. There was a short rain shower too and the droplets on the apples explains that.

There are many varieties of flowers too on the property as you can see. It really adds up to the overall vibe of this place. Everything here is raw and natural as it can be.

Witnessing the best Rainbow I’ve ever seen—

It was around 5 PM when I looked out and I saw the best view I had seen in the longest time—- A Double Rainbow.

By the time I was able to grab my phone and take photos, the second rainbow was almost faded but the view still remains in my mind. I wanted to take a better look so I stared walking up to see the better view.

But by the time I was there, it was already faded. However I was more than happy with what I saw and will remember it forever.

So at last I would recommend everyone to visit this beautiful and tranquil place.
