Soaking in the beauty of Nainital Lakeside —
We were already soaked because of the rain as soon as we got out of a taxi in Nainital. It was raining quite lightly now, and we thought of spending some time near the lake. As we were already wet, so we didn’t care if we got a little bit more. The lake was looking as mesmerising as it can be. I never saw such a huge lake in the lesser himalayan regions of Himachal Pradesh. Seeing such a beautiful lake in middle of the hill was the best thing that one can expect.
Just like Shimla and Mussoorie, Nainital was also founded by British people and first of all people made their here in this beautiful city. Their entrance can still be felt here in the city by all the buildings and architecture that these people had left to witness. You can see that kind of architecture in a lot of places such as schools, churches, and other government buildings.
I took the full advantage and managed to capture this beautiful photograph of me against the lake for the memory. It was a must to do thing that I completed, and I was really happy about it. This place was in my bucket list for the longest time and being here to enjoy the beautiful view that was captivating me for a very long time was fun.
Hiring a taxi to explore the town—
We were really confused because we didn’t knew what we were going to do next. The rain almost stopped, and it was showing that it would clear out in an hour or so, considering the weather forecast, we decided to explore the town instead of finding the hotel first because the weather forecast also showed scatter thunderstorms later in the evening time, so we couldn’t take any more risk to stay inside only.
Because of that, only, we had a local Taxi guy to show us around the town as it was off-season time here in Nainital, so we found a taxi for a really cheap price. Taxi that we found was half the price of normal prize during the two season and we were really grateful to be inside of the Taxi once again.
The taxi driver promised us to show seven spots along the town that were really famous, and some of those spots offered one of the best views of the town. On our way up to the mountain top, we witnessed many places where they were a lot of bikes and two wheelers available for rent, and we decided to take one the next day when the weather clears out.
On the way, we also saw many temples and mosques, and also in Gurudwara that showed us the secularism of this city. Although the city was less than a few kilometres in area, but there were places of worship of all the religions that was really fascinating to me.
Now our Taxi started to gain elevation very quickly as we were now getting out of the town and towards the areas, covering the sidelines of the town. We would soon be on the top and would be seeing the lake below us. I was really excited to see that, and I couldn’t wait anymore.
Reaching Bara Pathar—
Just after five minutes, we reached the spot number one. This particular place was famous for the cool winds that came out of the rocks that were on the side of the road. Our taxi driver told us this story.
According to him, these stones had little cavities in between them, that led a little breeze from the lake to the top, and during the summer time that breeze would be really cool because of the moisture that it captures from the lake.
They were these photography spots made near to those stones and this signified the tourist activity in this area as this was of season, there weren’t anyone else available there apart from us, so we had a really good time enjoying ourselves there.
Although we were not able to experience the cold breeze that was blowing from inside of the stones because it was a rainy day and that breeze could only be felt during a hot summer day, so we decided to come back here during such time to experience that wonderful experience.
We were more than happy to witness these beautiful statues that were right in front of us and write in front of those mysterious stones as well. We captured the photographs of these stones and were really happy to do that. I also found a spider web inside of those structures that I captured. You can see that photograph below.
This tourist attraction was still under construction and Nainital was being written there that looked really nice as you can see the photograph below. The local administration was trying to complete this by the next season, and it would really be nice for the tourist to enjoy.
I also asked my taxi driver to capture one of my photograph near the spot as memory. I’m posting that photograph below, and after spending about 5 to 10 minutes there, we decided to move forward towards the second place.
I will be continuing my journey in the next blog. Thank you all for passing by that’s all for today. I hope to see you guys in the next one.
