Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!!!
So finally I am in Nepal!🇳🇵
After doing rest for about 30 minutes in our hotel room, I couldn’t help but to get out of my room to explore the town by myself. The official timings of the group was still an hour ahead, so I had an hour for myself. Another thing that I really love was that I was not having the phone signals as I did not activate my international roaming pack, so it was going to be an adventure for me, and also I was excited to unwind and disconnect from the world for a while .
One thing that I noticed, while coming to Janakpur was that there were a lot of lakes and small points here in the city, I spotted about 3 to 4 points on the way while we were coming to Janakpur and coincidently, our hotel was also on the side of one of these lakes.
We got our room in fifth floor and the view of the lake from the fifth floor was just mesmerising as you can see in the photograph below. I was so eager to roam around the lake, so I went down. Janakpur is quite hot with temperatures of around 40°C. At the time. I was there in spite of that, I couldn’t help myself but to explore this beautiful town on my own.
As I was going down, I met the manager of our hotel and I started talking to him. I started asking him about all the nearby attractions and all the things that I need to know while roaming around here in Janakpur. I got to know that Indian currency is also accepted here as this town in vicinity of India.
He also told me that most of the people living here knew my mother tongue Hindi and they were very comfortable in speaking Hindi as well, so that was a plus point for me, I had only Indian currency on me and I didn’t had any Nepali currency, so he told me that there is no need to exchange your Indian currency. You can easily get Nepali currency from any shop here.
While I was talking to him, I didn’t notice how time passed. It was already half an hour since I got out of my room and only half an hour was left until we had to arrange ourselves at the hotel parking, where buses would come and pick us up to show us the town.
So utilise this half an hour. I went out and thought of revolving around the lake and explore the vicinity of my hotel. This lake was not very clean, but in spite of that cold breeze was blowing from the lake towards the sides, which was making it really fun to walk along the lake.
After crossing the lake, I went to the market just to see how the markets looked there and what products are available here that are not available in India and what different products are available. There on the shops. I noticed many things similar, but many things were also very different. I did not buy anything or went to any shop. I just noticed how everything was different yet quite similar to my home country India
I was a little bit tired after walking for 30 minutes, and the time was also up and I need to get back to my room to get ready for our exploration of the town with the group. So I went back. It was fun little exploration that I did on my own, and I really liked it.
I was really looking forward to explore this town in depth along with my group, so I went back to my room to get ready for our adventure that was waiting for us ahead.
That’s all for today.
Thanks for passing by.
